Spider-Man and his many, many alternate universe couterparts reached the end of their dimension-hopping adventure in Amazing Spider-Man #15, but there's far more to come for the webslinger! Newsarama sat down with Senior Editor Nick Lowe to talk about the conclusion of 'Spider-Verse', the upcoming 'Secret Wars', and the introduction to the newest member of the Spidey Family, Spider-Gwen!

On Spider-Gwen's fanbase reception: I was just blown away by the reception of Spider-Gwen, the way she took hold with the fans. There was really no way to predict that. I had no idea it would become as huge as it did. It started as an idea in Dan Slott’s "Spider-Verse"document, a world where Gwen Stacy was one of the alternate Spider-Characters. Then, when Jason Latour and I were talking about his Edge of Spider-Verse issue, we landed on that concept. As soon as I saw Robbi Rodriguez’s designs, I knew it was gonna be special, but I had no idea how special.

On the upcoming Secret Wars: We have a Secret Wars series coming out titled Spider-Verse, which follows directly from some of the events of Amazing Spider-Man #15, following Spider-UK and Spider-Girl, and it’ll have appearances from Spider-Man Noir, as well as a few others. We’ve got some more stuff that’s gonna be announced in the coming weeks that I’m really excited for people to see.

On the next Spider-Man arc: He’s going back to basics for this arc. We’re focusing on Parker Industries in a big way, and trying to simplify. You’re not gonna see a lot of other Spider characters for a while, so it’ll be kind of a breath of fresh air. We’ve got some stuff coming up with Parker Industries dealing with the Ghost, who readers will know from Thunderbolts. You will see Alchemax in there as well, and some other high tech companies.

Then beginning in , for the next five months, we’ve got Gerry Conway, a classic Spider-Man writer who still has the goods returning in a big way. We’ve got art by Carlo Barberi, and covers by Art Adams. So it’s really, really cool, and that’s gonna focus on kind of the seedy underbelly of Spider-Man, and the world of organized crime in New York. Black Cat, Tombstone, Hammerhead – they’re all there.
