Ign spoke to Geoff Johns on his role as a Chief Creative Officer for DC Entertainment and yet again shows his compassion for his character, Hal Jordan, even mentioning his official involvement in the 2011 film.
IGN Comics: Geoff, can you give our readers a sense of what you'll be doing as Chief Creative Officer?
Geoff Johns: It's like I've been doing for the last few years with comic books and the DC Universe. I'll still be writing my comics as that's part of my job, which is great. But I'll be working with Jim and Dan across all imprints, and my job is to carry those things outside of comics, for example with the Green Lantern film. I've been working with the guys on that, getting that geared up - they start on that in just a few weeks. And I think Green Lantern is an example of the synergy we can create between DC Comics and everything in DC Entertainment.
IGN Comics: Geoff, you mentioned you've been working with the Green Lantern movie team and advising their production. Would that mean you'd also advise or be creatively involved with something like a third Batman film?
Johns: I can't comment on anything beyond the immediate movies. Green Lantern has been greenlit and is in production next month, but I can't go into anything beyond Lantern right now.
Well I am very excited and overjoyed by this news. Now I know Green Lantern is in completely safe hands especially with a director like Martin Campbell and Gl's own writer. It will most likely be a faithful adaptation.
