Last June, Marvel released the first issue of a five-part miniseries that brought the Ultimate Spider-Man, Miles Morales and 616 Spider-Man, Peter Parker face-to-face for the first time. Thee 5 issue series moved 846,970 copies across 4 months. Today, writer Brian Michael Bendis has confirmed that a sequel to the mini is in the works. No word yet on whether plans include a return for Pichelli. Currently, the 616 Spider-Man is having some personal issues with arch-villain Otto Octavius presently in control of his body while the 'spirit' of Peter Parker helplessly looks on. There's a big Spider-Man event rumored for this summer so it's possible this could be it. More details as we have them.

Very good? No, it was good though. The whole story could've been told in two issues instead of the five I believed it took to tell.

I think TayDee is on the money. It was certainly very enjoyable, but it did stretch out the story and key revelation points between the two spideys for too long, it was very much leaving questions unanswered as long as possible to ensure people bought the next issue. The fact that Parker never got to properly interact with MJ was annoying too.

I liked it a lot, but let's not kid ourselves that it didn't have some missed opportunities.

It would have been cooler to see how Peter would have reacted to seeing a younger alternate universe version of himself, but I'm not going to lie, it was not a bad book. I enjoyed it. But I think they made Miles too powerful against Peter. Peter would have mopped the floor with him in their fight. Regardless, it was good.

It was excellent ! We could see the true potential of Bendis ! It was totally different from his work on Avengers ! Believe me , Spider-Men was the best mini-series of 2012 !

I greatly disagree that it was a 'filler'

Admittedly the only issue that was really worth it was issue #4 (I think) where Peter got to meet Ultimate Aunt May and Gwen Stacey. This event was remarkably important for both of those characters and provided a satisfying conclusion to their stories following the death of Ultimate Peter Parker.

I personally loved it. It was very thin on plot, but It was a much more character driven story than I expected, and that is what I loved about it. I picked up the first 2 issues but I went on holiday for 2 weeks and when I got back the 3rd issue was sold out so I bought it in trade a few months ago.

I got excited until I remembered Ock was still Spider-man. Still looking forward to it. Spider-men was decent, but not great. Issue #4 was the only one that really delivered because the others wasted too much time on trivial stuff. This kind of crossover is interesting for the character interactions, not the fights. I would've liked to have 2 issues like #4, maybe one where he meets Mary Jane since she seems to be having a lot of trouble coping.

oh god, Doc Ock Spidey will meet Miles....that should be interesting....

lets hope it shows us what Peter got so wide-eyed about at the end of the original

The first was one good but I felt there was so much more they couldve and shouldve done. All I know... if its with Doc-Ock Spider-Man, I couldnt care less (even if it is the story that returns Parker to his body though probably wont be). With that, there will be many other books taking priority.

I thought it was decent, not great, with a couple of great moments. I got a little choked up when Peter met Gwen and May. Also when MJ ran from Peter. BUT...as soon as Miles owned Peter, within 3 pages, I couldn't say the series as a whole was great. "New hero" Miles makes short work of battle-tested 616 Peter? /rolls eyes
