Marvel's very own Editor-in-Chief, Axel Alonso, announced during his Axel-in-Charge ?(at Comic Book Resources)column that there are plans for the release of comic book tie-ins for Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. Usually, Marvel's tie-in comics to their cinematic universe are released around the time their movies are hitting the theaters, but while that is happening, the comics are hitting the bookshelves and are a success. After being asked a question by a fan, Alonso stated "We'll always be working on books set in the Cinematic Universe during the window of the movies," also adding "The collected editions of those comics end up being some of the best sellers of the year in the book market. So, we've already got plans for Avengers and Ant-Man next year." With that being said, we could expect the release of more and more tie-ins up to the release of Avengers: Infinity War Part II.

Interesting, I'll read it after Age of Ultron comes out. Avoid all potential spoilers!!!! Although I haven't been doing a great job when I look at articles on comicbookmovie

Unrelated, but I just re-watched "The Incredible Hulk", and it's actually a pretty great movie. It's pretty well shot and it's very enjoyable. I highly suggest giving it another viewing.

Are these tie-in comics any good? I've never actually read on before.

@MrBlackjack

They're actually pretty decent. One of it's frequent writers, Christopher Yost, has been said to be co-writing Thor: Ragnarok.

The only tie-in I've read is TWS Infinite and it was good.

Most of the earlier ones are pretty 'meh'. The really good ones are Fury's Big Week and the Thor: The Dark World Prelude. Both of those are pretty excellent, and the latter had a scene in it that ended up being put in the actual film after reshoots. (Loki's sentencing scene)

Another pretty great one is the Guardians of the Galaxy Prelude focusing on Gamora and how she met The Collector in the first place.

You should always check out the prequel/tie-in comics that comes out. Like the one for Iron Man 3 explained where Rhodey was during the NY fight in Avengers, and why his suit was different in style from the War Machine he had made in Iron Man 2.

And Tony gives a great reason why he shouldn't have been wearing it too.

Tie in comics may not be great as comics on their own, but they do add interesting elements to the movies and take the stories a bit further. I believe that a fan should read them, they even answer some questions that you may have had during the movie ('Where was War Machine during the Avengers?' The answer wasn't the best ever but it was something...)

@captainsporty I try to remain positive about some stuff. It doesn't always work but I do believe that staying positive helps you in life sometimes. But trust me, there are plenty of times when I just give up... Which is not a good thing.
