DEADPOOL 2: Ryan Reynolds Teases The Possibility Of Cable Using Time Travel In The Sequel

Cable frequently uses time-travel in the comic books but will that be the case on the big screen too? Deadpool 2 star Ryan Reynolds weighs in on the possibility and teases more details to come...

Following the tragic death of a stuntwoman, production on Deadpool 2 starts back up this morning and the release of the movie isn't expected to be affected in any way (unlike Mission: Impossible 6 which could now be pushed back by several months depending on the extent of Tom Cruise's injuries).

Regardless, Ryan Reynolds has been doing the press rounds for The Hitman's Bodyguard over the past few weeks and was recently asked about whether or not time travel is going to factor into the sequel.

As you'll no doubt know, Cable is the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor and was sent into the future when he was a baby before returning to the present as an adult. Will the same thing happen in Deadpool 2? "It is possible," Reynolds teased. "Your answers will all be, they’ll be soon. They’ll be coming soon." Is that a sign that a trailer or some other sort of reveal is on the way? Time will tell.

There was a lot about Cable in that first official image which pointed to him hailing from the future, though, so it will be interesting to see just how much it factors into the sequel without making things overly convoluted and confusing. He's using time travel fosho.
Dunno if he has the prof with him, but that's the real question.

I remember getting cable TV as a kid, it was a big deal then.

With Cable, FOX has a great opportunity for jokes about the different X-Men timelines (old one, post-DoFP, Legion, Logan, Deadpool)

Maybe they could even travel to different timelines

Always enjoyed seeing Cable and Bishop in the XMen Cartoon.
Shame that Bishop got sidelined in DoFP

@SimplyAz - the cartoon handled the DoFP so well. Better than the movie imo. I think it was three episodes, so good

@CaptDeadpool - That Cartoon was just amazing. Even my Mum would sit down and watch it with me and my brother

@SimplyAz - that's awesome!! My parents have never cared for anything comic related. My dad literally hates The Dark Knight because it makes the cops "look stupid " and "isn't believable "... I tried to point out it was about a guy in a costume dressing up as a bat but he just wasn't getting it lol. Props to your dad

@CaptDeadpool -

Awww dude, I'm sure they'll like the right movie or TV show.

My Mum tends to watch most of them, and was the one who introduced us to the movie of Arnold, Stallone ETC, as well as the Reeves and Keaton films.

@SimplyAz - Dad and I have always watched Arnold and Stallone movies, ever since I was a kid (questionably too young), we would watch those together. I think it's the whole superhero, tights and capes he's not a fan of.

I made them watch GotG a few months back and they were so confused the whole time. Which is weird because my dad likes og trilogy Star Wars

"Performing the stunt as the Domino character in the film and having done several takes successfully already, Harris was not wearing a helmet when the tragedy occurred. The previous stunt double did have a helmet outfitted to go under the Domino wig but because of the short notice of joining Fox’s Deadpool 2, Harris did not have time to get such a helmet made for her, Deadline has learned."

That's... upsetting.

@Chewtoy -

It's not only upsetting but also worrying, if they ignore health and safety for the sake of a stunt with an additional stunt double. They could have just used the other stunt double
GhostDog
GhostDog - 8/16/2017, 4:44 AM
@Chewtoy - this is very worrying and scary. They should've used the other stunt doubt and been more considerate of this woman's safety.

So if part of the reason Cable is traveling through time is to recruit people for X-Force, could the teddy bear we've seen be for Dafne Keen's X-23? Maybe?

so he looks terrible and might not even time travel? what a joke.

Welp there's one way of bringing Logan back. Time travel to some where in the late 1800's like during the Civil War which would be awesome? Like an early 20's Logan? Bring him to the present and problem solved.

Maybe that is why Cable is carrying a teddy bear in the photo that was released last week. It's the only possession he was sent into the future with (as a baby) and he still carries it around. I think that is a sign that we will see the time travel story.

If he doesn't time travel I am going to be very upset.

if he doesnt time travel then he wouldnt be in the modern day lol With how accurate Deadpool is with the more outlandish elements of the X-men universe i cant imagine them shying away from what is the defining characteristic of his backstory
