Rob Liefeld's art is a divisive topic among many comic book fans but his contributions to the Marvel Universe are significant and bound to be felt once again in the upcoming Deadpool sequel. To remind us of that fact, Fandango has unveiled a new poster which sees Rob Liefeld team with colourist Mike Capprotti (they've worked together many times) to recreate 1991's New Mutants #98 iconic cover.
"The cover to New Mutants #98 has become an iconic image, and it is the comic that introduced Deadpool and Domino to the world," Liefeld tells the site as tickets finally go on sale. "New Mutants #98 has become a key image in the comic book pantheon, so I thought it would be great to pay homage with the movie cast… and I gotta be honest, man - it turned out better than I imagined!"
The poster will be available through Fandango when you buy tickets from them and you can see the comparison to the comic book version below. It's definitely a great looking piece of artwork anyway and a great way to promote the release of Deadpool 2. What do you guys think?
