BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Makes $16.3M From Thursday Previews; Expected To Take March Record From BVS

It is being reported that Disney's Beauty and the Beast made a whopping $16.3 million from last night's preview screenings. This is the highest grossing Thursday preview number of the year so far and the biggest live-action Disney film, which is more than fellow Disney films like Cinderella ($2.3 million) and The Jungle Book ($4.2 million).

Early estimates from box office experts say that Disney's Beauty and the Beast will take in a massive $65-68 million today, which includes the Thursday night preview number. This range from today means that the Disney flick will make somewhere between $165-175 million, with a chance of an even higher opening weekend. This means that it will likely take the March opening weekend record from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($166 million).

It looks like the massive presales were a great indicator of the film's box office success. In addition, Disney's Beauty and the Beast made $11 million from overseas markets so far. So much for the boycott, eh? Do you plan on watching the film this weekend? Sound off below!

Wow, that's even better than I expected. The reviews have been mediocre, but if I hear good things about the movie I'll probably watch it.

Mickey Mouse and Bob Iger by the end of this year:

Meanwhile at Warner Brothers:

@TheArkhamKnight - You sure you're not getting WB mixed up with Paramount/Sony?
TheArkhamKnight
TheArkhamKnight - 3/17/2017, 7:46 PM
@TheNewGuy123 - No. Warner Brothers doesn't have much going for them other than the LEGO films, Wonder Woman, and Justice League. Disney has so many franchise releases this year and this Beauty And The Beast film is just the start. Not trolling just stating an opinion.

@TheArkhamKnight - And what does Sony have besides the emoji movie and Spidey: Homecoming?

plus, Paramount has had a string of flops over the last few months..

@TheArkhamKnight - I think they'll be alright. There's the movies you mentioned, plus Kong is doing better than expected ([frick] yeah!), also Dunkirk, Annabelle 2 and Blade Runner 2049 will probably do well. So I'd WB off to a pretty good start this year too.

@NoMeaning45 - I didn't say anything about Sony and Paramount. Sony is a joke if they think this Emoji film is going to be big at the Box Office. Without Marvel, Sony wouldn't be in a good place with Spidey. As for Paramount? Transformers: The Last Knight looks just as awful as the last three films.

@TheArkhamKnight - exactly.

So it wouldn't be WB looking for change at the end of the year/

@TheNewGuy123 - Blade Runner can be a hit or miss. They have a good director so we will see. Kong will see a huge drop this weekend. Annabelle 2?! That first one was an abortion! I forgot about Dunkirk... Maybe.
