Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is shaping up to be Marvel Studios' biggest, craziest movie to date. Earlier today, it was confirmed that Shuma-Gorath will be the sequel's lead villain, and we're now following that up with even more cool promo art.
Thanks to an Amazon listing, we have a (blurry) look at a team-up with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) front and centre alongside Wong (Benedict Wong), the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez). With any luck, Wong's presence means he'll be given a leading role rather than just staying behind to protect the Sanctum Sanctorum.
America promises to be a crucial part of this adventure as she has the ability to travel freely between realities. That might just make her one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most powerful heroes, so it's no wonder rumours have pointed to both Shuma-Gorath and Wanda Maximoff taking notice of her. After all, they both have a vested interest in exploring the Multiverse.
We're hoping a first look at Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness might arrive online in time for Spider-Man: No Way Home in December; that would certainly make sense given how much the two movies have in common. Either way, we can't wait to start exploring the MCU's Multiverse!
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6, 2022.
