Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was a PG-13 movie, but filmmaker Sam Raimi still pushed the boundaries. The Scarlet Witch definitely unleashed her powers in a brutal way, making short work of the sorcerers at Kamar-Taj and even the formidable members of The Illuminati.
Now, a newly revealed stunt video shows performers rehearsing a violent scene that, unfortunately, didn't make it into the movie.
The Scarlet Witch is shown breaking bones, slicing people down, and even puppeteering a decapitated body to fight off her attackers. We think Marvel Studios might have been able to find a way to pull this off, but it might not have sat well with the censors! After all, there's a lot of blood here and a body without a head fighting might have been too much for the MCU.
The Doctor Strange sequel ended with Wanda Maximoff seemingly being buried alive after using her powers to destroy every copy of the Darkhold across the Multiverse. That flash of red was a strong hint she survived, though, and we're sure the character will be key to future stories in The Multiverse Saga.
There had been rumours Marvel Studios planned to announce a Scarlet Witch Disney+ TV series at D23, but it didn't materialise. We could see the character factoring into Agatha: House of Harkness, though there's a good chance Wanda's return is being saved for either Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars.
Going back to this deleted scene, the choreography is amazing and we definitely appreciate the work that went into this...even if it didn't make it into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
