New DOCTOR STRANGE Concept Art Teases A More Comic-Accurate Design For The Villainous Dormammu
Dormammu was one aspect of Doctor Strange that came in for quite a bit of criticism, but this new concept art shows that some much cooler designs were being considered for the villain at one point...
Marvel's Doctor Strange continues to bust blocks worldwide (recently passing the $600 million mark to become the studio's highest grossing single-character debut ever), with most fans and critics agreeing that the movie is pretty great - but some elements of The Sorcerer Supreme's big-screen did come in for some backlash; most notably its depiction of The Dread Dormammu.
Towards the end of the movie we finally see the villain in all his otherworldly glory, and while certain aspects of his original comic book appearance are clearly visible, he was basically just a giant, angry head at the end of the day.
Below you'll find a few pieces of new concept artwork (presumably from one of the tie-in books) for the character, some of which present a more comic-faithful take, others just an all-round scarier/cooler design.
Doctor Strange is currently showing in theaters everywhere.
