The next few years look set to be extremely exciting for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we not only have some huge movies to look forward to, but also a number of Disney+ TV shows.

A little less than a year from now, Eternals will delve into the history of this shared world, exploring the concept of the Celestials and Deviants in the process. In 2021, WandaVision will explore Wanda Maximoff's transformation into the Scarlet Witch, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has now revealed some new details about both of those highly anticipated projects.

From whether the Eternals are aware of The Avengers to a planned appearance from Sparky the Dog in WandaVision (a character introduced in Tom King's critically acclaimed Vision run), Feige didn't shy away from dropping some very exciting new pieces of information over the weekend.

To check out this breakdown of reveals from him, you just need to hit the "View List" button!

Eternals Spans 7000 Years Of The MCU's History

Eternals

We've known for a while now that Eternals will take place over thousands of years, but Feige has now confirmed that the movie is "an epic that spans 7,000 years of human history, has cosmic connotations, and changes everything we know about the MCU." That's a bold claim, and the executive producer went on to tease the sheer scale of the project.

"The movie, it’s ambitious, and takes place over 7000 years from present day to Mesopotamia to all sorts of locations and time periods and really feels like nothing we’ve done before."

How will all that fit into a two-hour runtime? We'll obviously just have to wait and see!

Are The Eternals Aware Of The Avengers?

Eternals-Hulk

Earth's Mightiest Heroes have been protecting the world for a long time now but they've never had any help from the Celestials. So, is that ancient race even aware of the team's existence?

"The Eternals know about the existence of the Avengers," Feige confirms, "the Avengers don’t know much about the existence of the Eternals...yet." These characters are bound to cross paths down the line, but why the Eternals have stayed out of world affairs is something that needs to be addressed.

Will We See The Celestials And Deviants In Eternals?

Celestials

We've caught a few glimpses of the Celestials in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before now, but Feige has confirmed that they're going to be a "big part" of this movie and in it, "We will see the Celestials in their full, true, enormous power in Eternals, yes."

As for the Deviants, he added: "Deviants are in the film. The Deviants in the comic book mythology were…extremely important plans of the Celestials...and we will see Deviants that look unlike anything we’ve seen in the comics. This is a new form of Deviants that we’ll see in the movie."

In other words, they're going to be redesigned and given a makeover for the big screen.

Will The Deviants Have Any Connections To Thanos?

Thanos1

It's hard not to wonder how Eternals will tie into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it doesn't sound like we'll spend too much time on Titan exploring Thanos' ties to them or the Deviants.

"Thanos in the comics was an Eternal on Titan, so there may be connections," Feige teased. "But really this is about introducing those ten new characters that are played by an incredibly eclectic amazing group of actors that we’re focusing on." It would definitely be a lot of fun to see a younger Thanos, but you can understand why that wouldn't necessarily be a priority in Eternals

How Tom King's Vision Run Will Influence WandaVision

Sparky

We've heard a lot about the Scarlet Witch's role in WandaVision, but what about The Vision? Well, when Feige was asked if Tom King's comic book run will influence the Disney+ show, he dropped a very interesting detail about a character from that series we may end up seeing here.

"Partially, yes," he teased. "There were some beautiful covers for that, with [Vision] in the suburbs which [provided] lot of inspiration [for WandaVision]. If you know that comic, you might meet Sparky the Dog at a certain point in that series, but it’s only just inspired by that series and goes into a different direction."

In other words, while WandaVision will likely borrow elements from the comic books, it won't be too heavily inspired by it and isn't going to be a direct adaptation by any means.

The Multiverse Is The Next Step In The MCU's Evolution

Witch

We know that WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be game-changers for this shared world, and Feige has now made it clear just how much of a big deal that really is.

"You know, when we first started the MCU, it was all about introducing the world to Tony Stark in the Iron Man armor. The multiverse is the next step in the evolution of the MCU, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is going to crack it wide open in ways that will have repercussions for a Disney+ series just before it, that’s not WandaVision, and for movies after it."

Reading between the lines, it sounds like another Disney+ series is going to tie into the madness of the Multiverse, and common sense says that's probably going to end up being Loki

The Eternal know the Avengers because they have defeated one of them (Thanos). Such a great victory makes the rest of the universe look at the heroes of the earth.

These two things are my most anticipated MCU future projects. Sound like the weirdest ones too.

If they're going the route of multiverses then that's the perfect set up for Kang.

@BritishMonkey - sure is. Avengers had to cheat to beat Thanos, and Kang won't be happy how that affects his timeline

The Avengers beat up the Eternals little cousin lol

So were they there during the final battle? Unlikely I guess, but why the hell didn't they try to stop lil bro as he was Yanno killing everyone

@MyCoolYoung - They didn’t have a portal from Doctor Strange or the other mystics to get to the final battle. Hell, they likely didn’t hear about it until it was over.

@Chewtoy - well yea that's true but also Thanos had been a tyrant for longer than 11 years(that we know) he was obviously the most feared. I wonder if any of the eternals are strong enough to stand up against him

For some reason I thought I had read Loki was confirmed to tie into Multiverse of Madness as well. Maybe it was just a tumor so far?

@LiteraryJoe - I'm pretty sure this quote is referencing the Loki show:

"Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is going to crack it wide open in ways that will have repercussions for a Disney+ series just before it, that’s not WandaVision, and for movies after it."

Considering the Loki show is taking place in that alternate timeline, and it's the only other show aside from WandaVision dealing with an alternate reality (Aside from What If), it seems likely he's talking Loki.

Sounds like they are screwing up the Deviants. I've never been overly interested in them though, so not a big deal. JUST DON'T SCREW UP THE CELESTIALS!!!!!

@CorndogBurglar - You can't screw up something that you aren't adapting. Nothing in the MCU is an adaption, instead it's just another part of the Marvel Multiverse.

Both WandaVision and Eternals sound so amazing. The future is bright! Just don’t mess up the Deviants.

What I'm getting at is this supposedly monsters were bad mutations that didn't go right so IMO they might be setting up mutants into the Marvel movies.
