Casting The Fantastic Four In The MCU

Casting The Fantastic Four In The MCU

After the failure that was Fant4stic, if Fox were to make the right decision and return the Fantastic Four and their related characters home, these are the people I'd cast as Marvel's First Family, in addition to what could be one of the MCU's greatest villains: Doctor Doom.

So we all pretty much know that Fant4stic was a flop. The smart thing to do would be to sell the rights back to Marvel, since Fox are practically losing money on this franchise. But we all know that they'll most likely not budge.

But these are the people I would cast as Marvel's First Family, if they ever came home:

Penn Badgely as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic

I feel that he bears a strong resemblance to Reed, and I feel that he would have no problem bringing Reed to life on the big screen.

Christian Cooke as Ben Grimm/The Thing

He was another actor on Fox's shortlist to play him, so I thought, why not give him a shot?

Emilia Clarke as Susan Storm/The Invisible Woman

She can already rock a blonde wig (which will probably be the only hair thing she'll wear. You know, so she isn't flip-flopping between actual hair and a noticeable blonde wig between scenes.) and I think she's a pretty good actress, and I'd be interested to see her take this role on.

Hunter Parrish as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch

You know, when I think about Johnny Storm from the comics, I can see Hunter nailing this. Not only that, but he just looks too much like Johnny to me.

And in addition to this First Family, here's one of their greatest foes:

Richard Madden as Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom

I can see him doing this. I really can. It would really be cool if this could happen.

So since Fox screwed the Fantastic Four up again, I don't think Marvel would take a chance on a Fantastic Four movie. The best bet would be to introduce them somewhere else as more of supporting characters more so than main characters. I remember hearing someone suggest that they appear on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as scientists (well, just Reed and Sue.). But I think that Marvel should bring back the One-Shots to do this. The origin of the F4 can be compressed to a One-Shot, right? It would explain everything, and then they could start popping up in places, maybe even have all 4 of the appear in Spider-Man's solo film so we can get this moment from the comics:

But those are just my thoughts. Let me hear yours!

They should want fantastic rights back solely for Kang. They need another Avengers villain post-Thanos... Without Kang they will prob use Norman Osborn.

Too many pretty boy actors in male roles.
That said,Johnny pick is spot on looking.
Ben Grimm needs to be portrayed by a much more rugged looking guy, period.
Reed needs a more lean, studious type.
Obviously Sue role has to be given to a beautiful woman as she's desired by many men in the MCU.
Doom needs a type who seems dark & dangerous even prior to his scarred self.

A "real" FF film should be about them already with abilities, just get right to them exploring, not fighting crime or villains.
They should be out in space & alternate dimensions & encountering alien races & galactic gods. Conflict will appear of course..
Galactus is waiting & he's hungry

I like this fan cast, thank you for adding actors who aren't in their 40's.
The F4 shouldn't be that old to start with.

Badgley is too pretty for Reed,
Emilia Clarke, hmmm, I can't really see as Sue, but I love Christian Cooke as Ben and Parrish and Madden.

@Niklander
I wanted to choose someone that was close in age with Reed. I had another choice, but he was much older than Reed. Aren't Reed and Victor supposed to be college friends?

Penn Badgely i am a fan of his, I've been looking for the right role to cast him in. I like him as Mr. Fantastic. Emilia Clarke would bring yet another different feel to the Invisible Woman. Hunter Parrish I am a big fan of his too especially after seeing him in Weeds.
