G.I. Joe is a line of action figures produced by the toy company Hasbro. The initial product offering represented four of the branches of the U.S. armed forces with the Action Soldier (U.S. Army), Action Sailor (U.S. Navy), Action Pilot (USAF), Action Marine (USMC) and later on, the Action Nurse. The term G.I. stands for Government Issued and became a generic term for U.S. soldiers (predating the action figures), especially ground forces. The development of G.I. Joe led to the coining of the term "action figure". GI Joe's appeal to children have made it somewhat of an American icon among toys. In 1982, the line was relaunched in a 3¾-inch scale complete with vehicles, playsets, and a complex background story involving an ongoing struggle between the G.I. Joe Team and the evil Cobra Command which seeks to take over the Free World while using terrorism. As the American line evolved into the Real American Hero series, Action Man also changed, by using the same molds and being renamed as Action Force. Although the members of the G.I. Joe team are not superheroes, they all had expertise in areas such as martial arts, weapons and explosives.

Now onto the cast. Check out the image of all the cast below (you can click on the image to enlarge), while the description will be available right under it.
G.I. Joe
- Gen. Hawk: Personally, I think Biehn is very much capable to portray a leader and veteran (as he himself is) while also kicking some asses.
- Duke: Capability to be a main lead? Check. Face, and all the physical attributes? Check. Fighting skills? You can say so. Hemsworth can easily be a perfect Duke, hands down.
- Scarlett: It's pretty tough to cast a redhead character as Scarlett is, especially since Rachel Nichols has already portrayed the character very well back in 2009. I'd pick Emma Stone if she was a bit older, but since she's not, then I have no one else in my mind but Emily Blunt. Having been nearly cast as the Black Widow, I think that is enough to prove that Blunt is capable of doing things required, while also fitting the physical requirements for a Scarlett and of course, the acting skills.
- Beach Head: I honestly do not really get all the hates for Sam Worthington. Of course, he's not the best whatsoever, but I think he's a fine actor. If he's able to get rid of his strong Australian accent (which I found being complained by a lot of people), throw in his fitting looks and his experiences being an action man, and I think he can pull off the role.
- Flint: Rick Grimes of The Walking Dead of course has had a lot of experiences in wielding guns, while Lincoln himself is also able to pull off a lot of drama as well as build a strong chemistry with other actors - this is needed especially if his relationship with Lady Jaye will be featured. Give him the trademark beret and we'll get a great Flint.
- Lady Jaye: She already has an experience in portraying an agent in X-Men: First Class, so I believe it won't be hard for her to pull off a covert agent as Lady Jaye is. Additionally, she can easily fit the looks as well.
- Roadblock: I've encountered a lot of tough times in casting a big guy as Roadblock is, since a lot of actor has the looks but not the skills. So I won't be hard on this; Crews is pretty much a common pick for the role, but I think he can act finely, and of course you don't need to doubt his physical attributes.
- Snake Eyes: Once again a pretty tough one to pick, especially since Ray Park has portrayed the character perfectly. But Adkins is not a bad alternative; I've seen him pulling a lot of killer stunts, not to forget that he is very capable in fighting. Indeed he's not that good an actor I should say, but Snake Eyes is mute so nothing to worry! And of course, Snake eyes will always be hidden beneath all that mask and suit, however just in case he appears unmasked (as you can see on the image above), I think Adkins is an easy fit as well - dye his hair blond and all is fine.
- Younger Snake Eyes: Pre-accident, Snake Eyes served in the army alongside Storm Shadow. I think this is quite an important point to be featured in the movie, so of course we'll need another younger actor that is capable to pull off the role. (Snake Eyes will still be able to talk during this period.) Till has all the physical requirements in my opinion, and also he can act. So, why not?
Cobra
- Cobra Comm.: I was also considering Mads Mikkelsen (another Bond villain, nothing intentional) for the role, but then I think Amalric will make a better Cobra Commander. He can portray a cruel and somehow coward terrorist, while his voice is also less deeper than Mikkelsen's, making it easier for him to pull off the Commander's shrilly voice. He's short, yes, but in Quantum of Solace I didn't see any problem with that, plus, he's the Commander after all!
- Destro: Easy, I guess. Needless to doubt Isaacs' skills in portraying an antagonist, and he has the charisma and physical needs to be a Destro.
- Firefly: I think Skarsgard has some sort of 'killer eyes', and since what can be seen from Firefly at most times are his eyes, so I think that's quite important. In all seriousness, Skarsgard is able to act, and also he can fit Firefly's looks, so I guess he should be fine.
- Baroness: She has been Sarah Connor in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, so of course she is used to guns and firefights and all. She has also been Queen Gorgo in 300, so her beauty and charisma is not doubtable. Plus, her age is not far from Jason Isaacs', making it more natural and believable for Destro and Baroness to have a romance. The only problem probably is her height, but since Baroness usually sports some sort of high-heeled boots, I think it will not be that much a problem.
- Storm Shadow: Not the most original pick indeed, but I don't really have any other alternatives in mind. Rain has had an experience with swords as seen in Ninja Assassin, and I think he's badass enough in it. Furthermore, he's not a bad actor, especially considering the fact that he's a singer-turned-actor. I've stated that featuring a flashback of Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes' times in the army would be necessary, and while I picked a younger actor for Snake Eyes, I think Rain is already fitting enough to portray his younger self. As an additional reason, as far as I've experienced, he was the reason a lot more people went to see Ninja Assassin and even Speed Racer, so I think featuring him in this will bring more benefit.
- Zartan: We've just seen him in Captain America: The First Avenger where he portrayed Heinz Kruger, and while we'll still need to wait for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to see more of him (as Thorin Oakenshield), I think from that one single appearance of him, he's capable to portray a secret terrorist agent. Plus, he has the looks as well as the physic.
- Tomax and Xamot: Now this one I'm not really sure of. (I do not want to cast one person that acts as twins, because I think they'll be needed together a lot, plus casting real pair of twins for the roles will create a better chemistry between them - Tomax and Xamot have some kind of an empathy link from what I remember.) They fairly have fitting looks in my opinion, but in the Harry Potter franchise, they were more of comic reliefs; though in the last chapters we also saw them having some dramatic moments. And from that, personally I think they have a lot more talents to be dug into, of course they will just need the right roles to do so - these could be that right roles.
