It all began with one sentence, "I'm here to talk to you about the Avengers Initiative." Ten simple words that paved the way for some of the best CBMs in years. Phase one of Marvel's Cinematic Universe was a game changer, never before has any studio made a CBM that successfully set up a shared universe between its individual characters. Marvel's hard work did not go unnoticed, the majority of fans and critics were never let down.
Earlier this year, The Avengers was released, ending Phase one with a bang and shattered box office records while also making Warner Brothers green light the Justice League movie that was stuck in development hell for so long. Next year Phase Two will kickoff with the highly anticipated Iron Man 3 and will also provide us with the sequels to Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, as well as Guardians Of The Galaxy and a possible Ant-Man movie, Phase 2 will be topped off with the currently untitled Avengers sequel. Will Phase 2 be as well-received as Phase 1? Only time will tell, but I personally believe that as long as Marvel continues to put the fans first, then Phase 2 will also breathe new life into comic book movies once again.
