With Great Power: Fight Choreography Test

With Great Power: Fight Choreography Test

After a lot of positive feedback on my ideas for a Spider-Man short film, I decided that I'm gonna do this thing. For anybody who wants to go through the journey with me, it starts here...

Sup nerds!

If any of you remember, I've posted a couple articles titled "With Great Power" regarding my ideas and test animations for a possible Spider-Man short film.

I got a lot of positive response. So guess what. It's happening.

I finished the script for my short film (titled "The Amazing Spider-Man: With Great Power") a couple days ago and I've been hard at work rounding up actors and costumes to get this thing started.

Just recently, I shot this test clip for possible fight choreography for the scene where NOPE! Just kidding, no spoilers.

Anyway, here's the test footage :)

I made it simply to test the fight choreography I had put together, but at the same time to test framing/editing/sound effects and what not. The lighting sucks, yes. The quality could be better, yes. But it wasn't lit, and it's not the camera/equipment I'm using for the short film so calm down. Let me know what you guys think of the edit!

I thought it would be cool to keep you guys updated on the progress, with set photos and concept art and what have you, so if you're interested, keep an eye open for articles titled "With Great Power."

Til next time!

Oh, and I love all kinds of feedback so don't be afraid to ask questions or let me know what you guys think :)

With great power comes great responsibility.

Great job man. If I may ask are you making this animated or live action? only wondering because you had animation test and this live action.

Thanks :D It's live action! I did the animation test because I wanted to see if I could pull off CGI. I can't do the swinging scenes practically. So it's going to be live action, but the swinging scenes (besides close up shots, those are gonna be green screen) are going to be CGI.

The original shots actually weren't that close up. I zoomed in on them in post because I wanted to make them moving shots since I shot them still on a tripod. Thanks for the advice! :)

But... Do you have any knowledge of martial arts and the human body or... this is just completely made up?

@BaronZemo I took a karate class for a few years but other than that, no. The short film is Peters origin story so he isn't exactly supposed to be an expert fighter. Its supposed to be fighting mainly on reflexes. Spider sense. Hence the ducking/blocking. But this is far from final so I welcome any advice or whatever :)
