My take on the X-Men reboot, isn't X-Men: First Class, instead I see it like X-Men Year One; flashbacks and opening credit origin sequences to explain how Xavier met Magneto, and how the school was founded and essentially how thier friendship was destroyed, etc. Anyways, the film should happen a year after Xavier becomes crippled by Magneto (former deputee head of the Xavier institue), rise in mutant numbers has gotten the public scared, this leads to Senator Robert Kelly initating the Sentinel Programm (my take on the Sentinels is a little diffrent; I dont imagine them to be giants, but about 8-9 foot cybernetic battle suits, like a cross between the Avatar mech suits and Iron Man) to police mutants. This leads to obvious conflict, leading to Eric Lensher resurfacing as the mutant terrorist Magneto, declaring war on humanity, this forcers Xavier to mold his students into soldiers dedicated to protecting thier race, etc. as for the costumes, I imagine it to be a mix between the First Class suits and the Ultimate suits, also origin wise, I imagine it to be a mix of the Ultimate unvierse and the regular Marvel universe. Anyways, enough with the talk, heres my cast!
The X-Men
Proffesor Charles Xavier - Mark Strong
Strong definetly has the fierce intelligent look nailed. With him, I believe he can bring a more hands-on Xavier then Patrick Stewarts, and he's also got the right commanding presence necessary for the role
Cyclops - Sean Faris
He was great in Never Back Down, that just shows he can definetly handle action, and will definetly be able to give a stronger leader figure than James Marsden's Cyclops. Anyways, in this film Wolverine hasn't met the X-Men yet, so Cyclops should definetly be under the spot light as the guy who ends up developing himself and becomes the team leader
Marvey Girl - Autumn Reeser
Before I had Doira Baird for the role, and yes shes hot, but she doesn't look very intelligent and shes hardly a great actress. Anyways Autumn Reeser definetly had a more intelligent look to her and I feel as if character wise she can be true to the mainstream Marvel Jean Grey yet give her a bit of an edge
Storm - Gugu Mbatha-Raw (YES THATS A REAL NAME)
She's admitedly a relatively unknown actress, but is great with drama, so she'll definetly be able to bring a better Ororo Munroe. Anyways, characterwise, I imagine this to be a combination of Ultimate and regular Storm; she was a pickpocket/thief as a kid, etc, when she discovered her powers she uses it to become like a voodoo doctor/witch essentially being treated like a goddess, etc
Beast - Jared Padalecki
The guy is pretty humongous and he can handle witty banter, as seen in Supernatural.
Angel - Alex Pettfer
He has the rich douchebag look to him... lol... and I feel he can effectively show Warren's transition from spoilt brat to effective team member
Iceman - Josh Hutcherson
Some of you maybe thinking HELL NOOO! right about now, but wether you like him or not, he can bring that wise cracking quality to the role and definetly deliver a more comic book-esque Bobby Drake
Havok - Travis Van Winkle
He looks enough like Sean Faris to be considered his brother, but Im not to sure how good his acting skills are; Friday the 13th isn't a good example to judge him on anyways. Storywise, I want Havok to be killed off, its a bit harsh, but I feel that it will help show Scott's development and help him mature into a better leader
The Brotherhood
Magneto - Vigo Mortensen
I kind of liked the Ultimate take of Magneto; canibal, etc and Mortensen can definetly bring the creepy, cold feel to the character. Many people however prefer him for Mr Sinister, but frankly I feel he'll be able to convey a very sympathetic/understandble villain for the ages
Mystique - Emily Blunt
She should be Magneto's right hand woman, and play thing (if you get what I meen). Anyways, I feel Blunt can bring the right level of sexyness that Romijin brought to the role, and she definetely has the mischevous twinkle in her eyes, that give her a femme fatale look
Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch - Gaspard Ulliel and Imogen Poots
I dont expect this version to be incestuous like the Ultimate version, but they should be damaged and creepily attached to one another. I feel both Ulliel and Poots can own these roles, Poots in particular as she is perfect in bringing that creepy innocent appeal to characters; just watch Centurion
Mastermind - Jason Flemyng
Yes, I know he's in First Ass, but I feel he's perfect for the character. I prefer the Ultimate take on the character, so he should basically be the asshole psychic rapist who abuses his powers
Forge - Oscar Jenaida (I THINK THATS HOW YOU SPELL HIS NAME)
Visually I think he's perfect for the role. As for his acting chops, he brought a badass swagger to hsi role in the Losers, and I feel he can bring that kind of arrogant/intelligent kind of feel to this role too
Juggernaut - Nathan Jones
This version of Juggernaut isn't Xavier's step brother, but rather just a regular mutant called Cain Marko was experimented on and made more powerfull, (yes by Weapon X, but this is a story for the sequel fancast) but manages to escape, and joins the Brotherhood to destroy all humans
Senator Robert Kelly - Rutger Haur
He can definetly play the guy you love to hate, and I feel he is perfect for the role
Bolivar Trask - Powers Boothe
Perfect at playing assholes, just watch Sin City. Anyways, this take on Trask is a straight up racist, who believes all mutants should be eradicated. He creates the Sentinel programm, and lets Kelly use it
Anyways people thats my take on a X-Men reboot, gimme your thoughts!
