FAN CAST: Cable (Part One) by JoshW

FAN CAST: Cable (Part One) by JoshW

Here are my choices, featuring over 25 characters, for who I’d like to see star in a solo movie based on Cable following his early years, his time with the Six Pack, New Mutants and his battles against Apocalypse, Stryfe and the Mutant Liberation Front!

Cable, born Christopher Charles Summers, is the son of Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor, who was a clone of Jean Grey. Madelyne was created by Mr. Sinister in the hope that she would seduce Scott and together they would create a powerful offspring. It was Sinister's plan to use the child as an ultimate weapon against his former master, the eternal mutant, Apocalypse.

Apocalypse, apparently having learned of Sinister's plan at some point, abducted baby Nathan and infected him with a deadly techno-organic virus. A member of the Clan Askani, a sisterhood in the future that fought against Apocalypse, appeared and told Cyclops that Nathan would die from the T-O virus unless she brought him 2000 years into the future. Cyclops had no choice but to agree and sent his son to the future.

Mother Askani, a time-displaced Rachel Summers, later pulled the minds of Scott and Jean into the future where, as “Slym” and "Redd", they raised Cable for twelve years. During their time together, the "family" prevented Apocalypse from transferring his essence into a new body, ending his reign of terror.

@Josh
once again, you knock the ball WAYYYYY out of the park with your casting!
although because i believe Biehn is getting a little old for Cable, i must say that i agree with Ozy about Lang.
can't wait to see your Blade cast!
don;t forget to check out my Spider-man Fan cast/story two articles down!
JoshWilding

DarthKyrat1: Thanks man, much appreciated! Yeah, this would make for an epic movie! Of course, they'll have to pull their fingers out and get on with a fourth X-Men movie of some kind first to set up the early origins of the character for him to have his own solo movie! Fingers crossed!

OZY: Thanks - however, I really dont think I'd want to see Lang as Cable...he was good in Avatar but would be too cheesy as Nathan IMO! :)

Wadey09: Thanks a lot man! He is beginning to get a little old for the role I have to admit so they had better hurry up and make this movie, lol! I havent started work on Blade yet but I have a few interesting ideas for it! Fantastic Four and Cable II should be next! I'll head over to your cast now!

ANIL: Thanks bud! :) The New Mutants were the hardest and took the longest to cast! I'm a fan of MCD's although I have to say that your pick is a good/interesting one!

I was tempted to cast Willis but as I've used him for Fury so many times I went for the equally perfect actor for the role in my opinion, Michael Biehn!

I was tempted to cast David but pretty much everyone does so I went for someone a little different! Fassbender has been my #1 choice for Captain Britain for a while now but Sinister would have to be my second choice for him! (followed by Bullseye!)

Thanks again dude - and jizz-worthy is right when it comes to Melinda Clarke, lol!

tea: Cheers man! Damn, I think you might be right actually! Now I think about it, I do spend more time making these damned things...in fact, I cant even remember the last time I posted a boob picture whilst talking to you, lol!!! :) Thanks for the reminder bud - I'll head over to "News" now in fact!

I'm glad You kept Cyclops! It was the script! Not Marsden.
McLovin
McLovin - 3/2/2010, 6:04 PM
Josh you are the man!!!! Michael Biehn as Cable is AWESOME!!! I would have gone with Jim Caviezel for Cyclops but outside of that, your casting skills ROCK DUDE!!!
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 3/2/2010, 6:20 PM
HelaGood: Thanks and interesting choice/brilliant picture! :)

BatmanKnight: Cheers man - as you know, I'm more of a Marvel guy and there was one or two that I hd forgotten/wasnt that familiar with! Lol, I was going to do it in one cast but I think that would have been too much and too messy! It's ok with something like the big Civil War cast I did but I think that Cable's earlier adventures and his brilliant recent stuff with Hope will work better seperately! I havent started that yet though to be honest...I'm right in the middle of my FF cast now!

tea: :)

NightAvenger4: Thanks dude! Yeah, Marsden was unfortunately stuck with a shitty script and an even shittier director - he could have done brilliantly as Cyclops - I just hope he gets another chance with a better director who'll actually give us a Scott Summers who's a capable leader rather than a whiney, jealous wimp!

McLovin: Lol, thanks a lot man! :) Great Cyclops choice...I'll have to add him to the list of actors I'm planning on replacing Marsden with in my Astonishing X-Men cast!

Great cast JoshW this might sound crazy but I really dont care much for Charlize Theron though. Everyone else is awesome.
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 3/2/2010, 8:34 PM
Amazing cast bro! I love it.

Glad to see you are sticking with Beihn as well! I remember when I suggested him a year ago only Shaman liked it, but now the choice has caught on, whcih makes me happy! Same with Theron as Dom.

Glad to see others going with Theron for Domino!

I mean look at this and tell me she isn't perfect for it!

And if you guys want to see a story featuring Domino and Cable, check out my last story X-Men 5

This is by far my best work ever!

ANyway I'm not sure about Witt for Rachel. Rachel is a tragic and F***ed up character. A really good dramatic actress is needed. I would go with Evan Rachel Wood personally, she is young and extremely talented and could bring much to teh role and give it the justice it needs.

Well done man, looking forward to part 2.

Great cast, and yes, Marsden was stuck with shit material as Cyclops (this can be traced back to Wolverine being the likeable protagonist of the films, and in his eyes Scott is a bag of douche, so of was natural for the audience to see him that way as well) but, I mean, the guy hasn't show me anything that convinces me he could portray the leader aspect of Cyke, Marsdens just comes off as annoying in everything I've seen him in.

The rest are good, especially Biehn as Cable.

Dmon - 3/2/2010, 9:39 PM
@THEHAWK I was just joking :D
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 3/2/2010, 10:23 PM
@Tyler. Marsden in X-Men had the strong capable determined aspect that Cyke needed. he just got watered down in the next two as more Storm and WOlverine was added to the mix.

@Dmon. Where you? Where you!?

Great Cable cast!

Biehn is Cable of course!
There ain't nobody better!

Stephen Lang is too homely
to play the 6'8" tall
handsome son of Scott Summers
and Jean Grey's clone!

This is a very fitting cast
Josh@! I'd love to see this
movie but it would probably
take about $300,000,000.00 to
make it and about 3 1/2 hrs. of
run-time!

LEEE777 - 3/3/2010, 4:31 AM
[frick] Stephen Lang, BIEHN needs to play CABLE!!

; D

And perfect CYCLOPS, he was born for that part, soooo glad you don't want [frick]ing supernatural boy playing him, total doom that would be! : D

Like 'em all dude, GREAT cast, bar TEDDY SEARS, he's a perfect ANGEL!!!!

Or CAPTAIN AMERICA for that matter, nice work dude, touch!

; )

P.S. Glad you changed the DOMINO pick, THERON is perfect for the part!

Same goes with WARPATH too!!
InTylerWeTrust
InTylerWeTrust - 3/3/2010, 4:37 AM
HAWK: Marsden showed nothing to me that made me think he could be the leader of the X-Men. He was annoying, and a douche. Yes, that has to do with the script and direction, but in everything else I've seen of him he hasn't impressed me. He still comes off as an annoying douche. I just don't think he's a strong enough actor.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 3/3/2010, 4:56 AM
ANIL: Yeah, I like Padalecki but I find it hard to imagine him playing Cyclops...I'm sure he'd do a decent enough job but I think he'd make a better Nova! :)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Dmon: Thanks and no worries man - I'm glad you like the rest!

THEHAWK: Thanks a lot dude and yeah, Beihn and Theron are both perfect for Cable and Domino...as your brilliant picture of Theron clearly shows!

It's funny you should mention Wood because I'm sure I've cast her as Rachel in the past! However, I went with Witt because I think she looks perfect for the character and is a good actress...that and the fact I'm planning on using Wood for another role pretty soon!

And thanks again - I look forward to your next story/cast! :) Part Two of this cast might be a few weeks away as it's going to be a bugger finding pictures of some of the characters, plus I'm in the middle of my second FF cast now!

TYLER: Cheers man! You're completely right about the way Marsden's Cyclops was handled but I have a feeling that given the right director he would be able to show us that he's capable of playing the teams leader! Sure, he hasnt really done any other movies where he's shown that but there were times in X1 and X2 that I think he proved he definitely has the potential! Not sure who else I'd cast as Cyke...after seeing him in Chuck I think Brandon Routh would be a decent fit for the role if you forget about Superman! (which he probably wont be back for anyway unfortunately!)

LEE: Lol, thanks bud! :) As I said to ANIL above, Padalecki is a decent choice for Cyclops but he just doesnt match up to the way I see the character...Brandon Routh does though, lol! He probably wont be back as Superman so no reason he cant defect to Marvel!

Sears would be good for Angel and a better choice for Cap than anyone on the shit/short list! I like him for a younger Garrison Kane though! Theron is the best choice for Domino and it took me ages to find a decent Native America actor for Warpath! With longer hair, Beach actually looks perfect for the role!
Dmon
Dmon - 3/3/2010, 7:39 AM
@JoshW Thats a great idea Brandon Routh for Cyclops I have been watching Chuck also and agree with you. I am such a purest though and the only thing that would bother me is Routh has Black hair and Cyclops has brown.

RIKSHAWRenegade
RIKSHAWRenegade - 3/3/2010, 12:53 PM
Dude, not bad, but I personally think Dolph Lundgrin should play Cable. Hes old enough, tall enough and big enough to pull it off. Granted his acting needs a little work but his appearence is perfect. Just add metal arm, scars, guns and glowy eye and BAM. What do ya think of that? Oh and Adam Beach as Warpath, TOO small, There are better choices I'm sure But the rest not too shabby JW. Padalecki would be a great Cyclops though, in my opinion.

Dmon: Lol, thanks man! I'm sure they could dye his hair or something!

HAWK: Thanks dude, I appreciate that! :) Ugh, the Omega Gang? Just one of many things I didnt like about Morrisons X-Men run!

RIKSHAWRenegade: Thanks but I personally dont like Lundgrin for Cable! I dont think Beach is too small - he's not quite tall enough maybe but is well built enough to pull off the raw power of the character! Camera angles can handle the rest, lol!

wade1210: Thanks - I know he wasnt a New Mutant and he is under the "Allies" section of the cast! :)
