Fantastic Four not so fantastic?

The Fantastic Four made their way back into the animation world, with the debute of their new series on Cartoon Network's Toonami.

The Fantastic Four storyline seems to be a filler between the first live-action movie and it's upcoming sequel, Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer. It's not the first time an animated series has been created due to a movie franchise.

The new series may not satisfy all hardcore FF fans of the comics or previous toons. The characters are a little off in resemblance to the originals and the plot lines may be rehashed a bit, but while this episode wasn't the world's greatest, fans can keep watching with decent belief that they will enjoy seeing their favorite team of heroes on the tube regularly.

The animated Fantastic Four airs Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. on Cartoon Network's Toonami
