It's been a pretty quiet Saturday night here on CBM, but we do have some Marvel Cinematic Universe-related rumors to share, including (possible) updates on the planned Nova series(?), The Fantastic Four, the recently announced Vision series (which is no longer believed to be titled Vision Quest), and more.
We'll start with the Disney+ WandaVision spin-off show that was originally known as Vision Quest. Last month, we got word that a new version of this project was in development with Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas on board as showrunner. Now, Daniel Richtman is reporting that production is currently scheduled to get underway this fall (between September and November), and that casting is underway for "a young co-lead aged 18 to 20" to star alongside the returning Paul Bettany.
We're not sure who this character could be, but the previous incarnation of this show was expected to feature the MCU debuts of Vision's children, Vin and Viv. We have no idea which - if any - ideas from Jac Schaefer's version of the series will carry over, however.
Moving on to the Nova project that's been brewing at Marvel Studios for a while. Last we heard, the space-faring hero will be making his MCU debut in a Disney+ series and not a movie. According to Richtman, the show will "feature a group of young protagonists. He's also heard that a showrunner has been hired, and an offer has gone out to an actor for the lead role, though he doesn't mention any names.
Will it be Richard Rider or Same Alexander under the helmet? We've previously heard that the series will focus on a "young lead," which means there's a decent chance it will be the latter.
Finally, Richtman believes The Fantastic Four will "take place primarily in outer space," essentially making it the next cosmic MCU film. With the likes of Galactus and the Silver Surfer involved, we knew at least part of the movie would be set in space, but it is somewhat surprising to hear that most of the story will play out off-planet.
There have also been some pretty crazy rumors relating to Franklin Richards' role in the movie, and if they do prove to be accurate, it would make sense for the film to mostly cosmic in nature.
