nice find ed. this actually looks pretty interesting. i see alot of faces that i have enjoyed watching on film in the past. i think that all of these faces have a genuine way about them and could in no way put together a bomb of a movie. i like it. im glad they went this route rather than picking up from where the original ended.....that would have been bad.

The clips definitely interested me. It's just amazing how many Oz projects are in the works: This one, Dorothy of Oz, Oz the Great and Powerful, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Surrender Dorothy... there are a couple of others that I can't remember right now. I think the success of Alice in Wonderland has made everyone start looking for this type of material.

I thought Enchanted did a great job of transferring fantasy to a sort of reality — although, admittedly, it was played more for comic effect there.

The plot of Dorthy re-discovering her past with OZ remindes me of Spielberg's "Hook". To bad it seems to take place in New York.

With the recent overwhelming interest in Oz, I would like to recommend a new series of books based on L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz books.
The Royal Magician of Oz Trilogy features Magician of Oz (volume 1), about young Jamie Diggs, the great-grandson of the original Wizard and his discovery of his magical heritage as he travels to Oz to battle the Army of the Trees and the Marauding Morels alongside his new friend, Dorothy.
In Shadow Demon of Oz (volume 2), Jamie Diggs returns to Oz with his best friend Buddy at the command of Princess Ozma in order to battle an ancient Evil from long ago and save the citizens of Mount Hyup.
Family of Oz (volume 3: due out in Feb. 2011) completes the trilogy as Jamie Diggs, now the new Royal Magician of Oz brings his family along for a wonderful journey through the Land of Oz as he battles Cobbler the Dog and teaches Princess Ozma the true meaning of family and Love.
Information about these wonderful books for lover of Oz and the Royal Liaison to Princess Ozma, who is the author, can be found at:

Assassin 666 you are a f$%Kn Retard. There were like 7 OZ books written by Frank L Baum so yes it was made for a sequel. As for the others who think the original was such a classic you are illiterate morons. The book was barely close at all to the book an actually Return to Oz with Faruiza Balk is much more faithful to the bookS yes thats plural Assassin666 as in sequels. In truth both were just an amalgamtion of several Oz books combined. Oz is like Narnia if done right they could be great but look what they are doing to Narnia. I have nothing against new ideas for older concepts so I'll try this movie even though the tin man looks like a Michael Bay transformer but please dont say the original was great an a classic or comment on something that you know nothing about. I mean for christs sake the slippers were silver not ruby the dumbass director changed them to ruby cause Oz was one of the first movies in color an he thought red popped more. Ill watch this with an open mind as an original property that it is but that gay ass judy garland musical is in the same vein as this in that it was not the book Frank L Baum wrote.
