Warner wins bidding war for retelling of the legend of King Arthur.

New version of the Celtic legend will be produced by the studio of the Superman and Batman movies.

Warner Bros. has recently beaten Universal Pictures and 20th Century Fox, among others, for the rights to film "Arthur and Lancelot", a spec script retelling of the legend of King Arhur and Sir Lancelot, written by David Dobkin ("Wedding Crashers"). Lionel Wingram, the producer of the succesful "Sherlock Holmes" film series starring Robert Downwey Jr. and Jude Law, is producing the movie, that'll have a $90 million dollars budget. More details about the project, its director and its cast are expected to come soon.
