University of Florida student JT Fridsma created this graph/diagram depicting the plot and time line of the movie.

If you find yourself curious about the movies but dont actually have the time to watch, here is a good way to catch up on everything that happened via diagram. The map is based on J.R.R Tolkien's description of middle earth. At the beginning of the map is each character from the beginning of the movie with Frodo starting first from the Shire and Merry, Sam and Pippin joining later. Oh and that line falling down and into middle earth? That would be Gandalf falling to his "death" after battling the Bal-rog at Moria. For a bigger look at the graph, click on the link below.
