After completing work on Guardians of the Galaxy, which now has a shocking PG-13 rating, director James Gunn headed to Singapore to begin his promotional tour for the upcoming Marvel space opera. Tagging along with him was stars Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, who all took part in live Q&A; during which, James Gunn discussed working with Joss Whedon on the script. More interestingly, the Guardians director confirmed that "we had to work together in casting Thanos because Thanos is gonna appear in stuff that I do, as well as stuff Joss does." Of course, he wouldn't confirm if it was Josh Brolin playing the purple villain, but it's pretty obvious at this point. Whedon having input on who plays Thanos is not at all surprising considering the Mad Titan first appeared in The Avengers, although with a different actor. Anyhow, check out the video interviews below and James Gunn's latest set photo featuring Chris Pratt "taking flight in a Mining Pod."

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014

What I really would like to know is if we will get some kind of reference or cameo of Black Panther or Wakanda.

I'm really impressed that in a rather CGI heavy movie, they still went very practical.

Yeah I went to the 17 minute preview and it was awesome. It was well balanced between action, humor, and a hint of suspense.

Joss has some weird fetish for Hemsworth's arms and favors Vision all around. Guess I should be looking forward to those two.

Josh Brolin as Thanos is sorta generic to me, Spader as Ultron is an unexpected damn-there perfect casting, and Cox as Daredevil is a really good choice. The casting I'm most looking forward to would have to be Black Panther.

Gotta say, the humor/dialogue from that preview... Not sure if it'll suit me or everyone that sees this film. Like ezio said, Gunn - or maybe Marvel, has a unique sense of humor that just doesn't click with everybody. IM3, for example, suffered from that.

John C. Reilly's lines are pretty terrible IMO.

@Maven I heard the audio too, Reily dialogue comes off so boring. Hell, Diesel who utters 3 words sounded more interesting.

@EzioKenway1225 I say generic because if they're making the character an all out brute force, which it seems like, nothing new. I want a bit of sophistication in Thanos. I'll be happily proved wrong.

John C. Reilly is my only gripe in GotG. I can't stand the guy, he belongs with Will Ferrell, Seth Rogen, and Ben Stiller in the bargain bin at a Salvation Army store...

But everything else for GotG looks incredible. Gunn is the man.

@Ezio

I'm most looking forward to Spader, Elizabeth Olsen, and from non-MCU, Tatum. I can't stand Taterhead, but he's playing my favorite X-Men, so I gotta give him a chance.

Listening to the 17 minute preview audio, I already know in will absolutely love the team interaction. The prosthetic leg joke was really funny. Seriously, why does the trailers come off so dull?

@ezio

The only other (latest) work of Black's I had seen prior to IM3 was Kiss Kiss and I loved it. It's why I was shocked I didn't enjoy his work on IM3. Same with some of the humor I've seen from GOTG - I loved Super, Slither, etc, but not everything that worked in those films is going to work for - say in this situation, a CBM. Sure I'll wait and see. GOTG is round 2 of that theory.

@Merc I loved John C. Reilly at Chicago!! But I love everything about that musical...

Wasn't Chadwick Boseman rumored to be one of Marvel's choices for Black Panther?

@Phronesis

Check out some of Brolin's other work, like W., Milk, and In the Valley of Elah. He's got great range, great emotion, and that sophistication you're looking for.

@Phoeny

Actually never seen Chicago. Don't really do the whole musical thing. Didn't mind Burlesque though, as Christina Aguilera has one of the best voices on the planet. And it doesn't hurt that she looked beyond [frick]able in that flick.
