GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2: Will Nathan Fillion Return As Simon Williams/Wonder Man In The MCU?
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn has taken to social media to explain Nathan Fillion's cameo in the sequel and drops some hints that we could see his Wonder Man in future...
When Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was shooting a handful of scenes set on Earth, eagle-eyed fans spotted a Simon Williams film festival featuring a variety of posters with the Firefly star in a number of roles. One of those was Tony Stark in an obvious nod to the Steve Jobs movie starring Michael Fassbender and James Gunn has taken to Facebook to reveal that he will now be releasing all of them.
That's going to be fun, but in the post below, the filmmaker goes into detail about including Fillion in the movie and why he struggled to find his longtime friend a cameo which would help open the door to him joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe somewhere down the line without just wasting the actor.
However, things get particularly interesting when Gunn mentions that, "I think we can consider them canon for the MCU, and I hold onto hope that Simon Williams will rise again." Nothing is confirmed then, but it definitely sounds like it's possible that we'll see more of this character in the future. Wonder Man could easily find a place in the MCU and it's hard to imagine fans complaining about Fillion playing him! What do you guys think of a possible return for Simon Williams? Sound off below.
