This from ...

"When we asked Will if he'd ever be up for playing another superhero he replied that there were a lot of unexplored characters in the HANCOCK universe that would be ripe for a sequel and confirmed that we'll definitely see the rumored HANCOCK 2 in a few years."

The film made $624.4 million worldwide, which definitely puts it in sequel status.

This is interesting and I kind of knew they'd do a sequel after that last haul.. I just hope they jack the action up a bit. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Not will's best 'I AM LEGEND' was better but I'd check out the sequel if they come up with a real villian. I'm interested to see where they take it..

han[wiener]..lmao..theres another for the list! i liked this movie..great first half but it loses the run of itself with the "twist" and all the back story garbage. basically, will smith as bastard hero=entertaining movie
will smith as "good" hero=shite!

The first half was hilarious and awesome. I was wonderfully suprised. First half 10/10. But then they made it a cliched superhero movie and dropped the humor for the second half. 6/10. If the movie would have stayed liked the first half, I would be super psyched. But it didn't, so I'm not. The next movie will only be like the second half of the original now that he's not a jerk.

Out of all the Comic or Super Hero movies this one had a different twist. You guys should give it a chance!!!! Defiently had a lot more funny parts than most comic movies.

I've heard good and bad's about Hanwiener (there CBM, I did it for you) I like the idea to a point, and think it looks decent. So i'll definitely give it a shot, i've read the synopsis and everything so I pretty much know the story and what happens throughout, seems good enough. Better than Fantastic Farce or Dolph Lundgren's Punisher <-----CROCK!

The Devil in a Bottle storyline for Stark was GREAT! He loses everything and becomes a drunken bum! freaking SWEEEEEEEET! Only to regain his composure and show the world he IS IRON MAN! RAAAAAAAAWR!!! Haha.

As a side note that has nothing to do with anything on this website, yet. If it ever came down to it, if they ever go far enough into comics from the big 2, Cuba Goodin Jr should play Access. I would dig that.

After the first movie, I didn't think there really was anything left to explore without beating the thing into the ground.

I'll defend Dolph Lundgren's Punisher, it had a $9million dollar budget and it was 1989... I mean c'mon, for what it was, back in the day, it was decent. Dolph did a good job on the brooding loner aspect of Frank Castle too. No "A-Team" style building montage here.

I think there is plenty of stuff that can be explored in the next movie. Mainly, making up a story about the villains from the first flick. It seemed to have been written so that they could either have been acting opportunistically when they broke out of prison to off him, OR they could have been acting on intel about Hanc0ck and what his kryptonite was. A movie featuring the other side of the hero/villain spectrum would be cool. Sort of a yin yang, for there to be a super hero, there has to be a villain that can stand up to him, escalation as it was referred to in TDK.

If they don't go with a villain back story as the main theme, then I think that delving even more into what makes Hanc0ck and _____(Charlize's character) special would work. She didn't seem to know for sure, so there is still some story to tell there.

I really would be disappointed if Hanc0ck 2 was in NY, so I hope they at least come up with a reason for him to come back to Cali.

One more thing... I know that it has a snowball's chance in hell of happening, but I think that showing Unbreakable and Hanc0ck being in the same universe would work well.

I'm pretty ambivalent...Han[wiener] was okay and it definitely left room for a sequel and even a prequel, but I can't see waiting in line for a midnight show or anything.

Unbreakable was a great film. My personal favorite of M. Night Shamalamadingdong.

TheNameIsBetty - 12/6/2008, 11:35 AM
lol Shamalamadingdong. I think it could be a good movie, as long as they do it right. Maybe they could advertise the movie with some villain that's really scary-ish and dangerous, like The Joker. I thought that the villain in the first movie was kinda hidden, like it snuck up on you.

I loved Unbreakable, but have now offially given up all hope on M. Night. The Happening was soo bad. I hadn't seen a movie that bad since Meet the Spartans.

And now he's making the Avatar movies?

Dude, don't knock Avatar. Awesome series with alot of character development and great storylines. M.Night is going to do an awesome job on that series. He said it will be his "Lord of the Rings"!

I can't wait for more info on that......CBM???

unbreakable is one of the best comicbook movies..without ever have been a comic! i was a huge fan of m. knight s, i even liked lady in the water. but the happening was one of the worst movies i have ever seen...we would have walked out except we got such a laugh at marky marks attempts at acting..the scene wer he talks to the plant..and gets out performed by it..was priceless.

as for handjob, if they lose the "wer actually angels" bullshit and introduce some better reasons for these characters having powers then it could be great. and having it exist in the same world as unbreakable is a cool notion..imagine hanwilly vs brucie!

it started out good then it jus went flat for me... they need a better villian... but i like will smith alot so he can pill it off

IF HAN[wiener] RETURNS, ID LIKE TO SEE NOT TWO IMMORTALS BUT 3..MAYBE ANOTHER GUY,TWO STAY TOGETHER THEY BECOME HUMAN TOGETHER, MAYBE THE TWO GUY IMMORTALS(WILL SMITH AND ANOTHER GUY) COULD BATTLE GOOD VS EVIL .HAN[wiener] HAS A WEAKNESS, BEING NEAR HIS MATE AND THE OTHER MAYBE LOST HIS MATE AND IS WITHOUT WEAKNESS.

I've seen HANC0CK. Can't even remember who the villian was in this. I remember the twist. But for the life of me can't recall the villian. So yeah...they need a good bad guy.
Shaman
Shaman - 12/8/2008, 8:31 AM
Okay... i haven't seen this movie... but you guys are saying they made a superhero movie out of "city of angels" here? Like WTF?!?!?!?!

I myself felt from the previews that it looked like they tried to adapt the comic book one-shot "FIGHTMAN" making a hero that doesn't give a shit, breaking anything he touches and having the whole city think of him as a menace. I LOVED that comic!!! It's the same creator/writer/artist as MILK AND CHEESE, i don't know if i'm the only one that recalls this LOL.

And Shamalamaslama isn't bad but i do feel that he really didn't do anything decent since Unbreakable which was amazing. Shamalamahanucka has put himself on a piedestal ever since which he thinks he's still on there, lookin over the top of everybody's head, but he's obviously flat on his ass in reality. And to hear that Shamalamapaprika says that Avatar will be his LOTR... it's like the opposite hulk effect here. Instead of getting stronger the more he gets angry, Shamalamahasbeen sucks more and more every time he thinks he's a god! He will single handedly discrace Nickleodeon's best product.

"and having it exist in the same world as unbreakable is a cool notion..imagine hanwilly vs brucie!"

Actually, what I was thinking is that they could explain that Bruce and the people like him were the descendants of the other super couples. Charlize's character said that the other super couples all found each other and died together of old age. Who's to say that none of them had children. Over the next hundred generations the genes become less powerful, but found their way in to the general population.

Shaman, you really should see the movie. It is hit or miss; most comic book movie fans will either love it or hate it. They aren't really angels, the female "super" tries to answer the question of what they are by listing all the things they have been called through out the years, one of them is "angels".
