HELLBOY: THE CROOKED MAN Has Finished Shooting; Gets Seal Of Approval From Creator Mike Mignola

It's been confirmed (via FearHQ.com) that Hellboy: The Crooked Man has already wrapped production. Yesterday, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola took to Instagram to reveal that cameras have now stopped rolling in Bulgaria, meaning the movie was only filming for roughly seven or eight weeks.

Despite not getting the opportunity to visit the reboot's set, the writer and artist says "I have loved what I've been seeing," adding: "If fans have been waiting for a Hellboy film that is actually an adaptation of one of my stories I think they are finally going to get one."

"Congratulations to director Brian Taylor and a really wonderful cast," Mignola continues, "and to co-writer Chris Golden who did so much to figure out how to give the studio what they wanted and still keep true to the heart and soul of The Crooked Man, my favorite of the Hellboy stories...they did a wonderful job bringing his really horrific character to life."

It was previously announced that Jack Kesy (Deadpool 2) will star as Hellboy alongside Jefferson White (Yellowstone) as Tom Ferrell and Adeline Rudolph (Resident Evil) as Bobbie Jo Song.

Director Brian Taylor (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) is at the helm of a movie that is said to expand Hellboy's world through some of the most beloved issues of the comic series. Mignola penned the screenplay alongside his Dark Horse Comics collaborator Chris Golden, so it's a project that definitely has potential.

The official synopsis for movie reads, "Stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia, Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent discover a small community haunted by witches, led by the Crooked Man, a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy's past."

On the page, The Crooked Man was an eighteenth-century miser and war profiteer named Jeremiah Witkins who was hanged for his crimes yet returned from Hell as the region's resident Devil. It's currently unclear who is playing that villain in the reboot.

Millennium Media has yet to announce Hellboy: The Crooked Man's release date.

How did they get this made so fast without anyone noticing

How did they get it financed so quickly after the last bomb

The del toro movies had a harder time happening

Can only go up after the last one. Shame because I thought Harbour was solid as the character.

@ModHaterSLADE -

Harbour kills it as Hellboy

It'll take the other parts of the movies to connect with audiences

I hope they find a way to do it

If at first, you don't succeed...

I dunno, Larry Hama gave Snake Eyes his seal of approval and look how that ended.

Mind you Hama will respond positively to anything if money is involved

We begged for so long for Hellboy 3 and instead they’ve chosen to give us multiple reboots years later…

Thanks…

@MrDandy - This is an important lesson for you to learn: You aren't important, and will rarely get what you want in life.

I didn't mind the Del Toro films. Not accurate at all to the books, but not terrible either. Perlman IS Hellboy tho. Down to the voice and look. They're both 8/10 movies for me. We don't talk about the reboot. I'll give this a chance.

All I think about when I see a new Hellboy movie is coming out is what Levi would think.

@Asterisk - Will studios ever give Del Toro the finances he needs to deliver Hellboy 3/At The Mountains of Madness/Justice League Dark?

Such a waste of power and resources that nobody wants to take a chance on one our greatest living filmmakers.

Dude...

Tom Cruise was attached, same ICON that delivered 💰 with "Tom Gun: Maverick"

James Cameron was attached, same LEGEND that raked in 2 Billion 💵 for "Avatar 2"

These guys print 🤑 Money and STILL "At the Mountain 🏔️ of Madness" is a question mark ⁉️

Maybe they're going to stretch out the production for decades, just like those Box Office hits, but WILL eventually happen...

Hey,
Villeneuve's made enough 💸 Bucks 💵 to get to a as second DUNE, so hopefully, ATMOM
Will happen

There's already leaked preproduction:
