Friday the 13th: The Game, an adaptation of the American horror film franchise of the same name, was fully detailed in an
announcement last October but, due to financial cost, it was never a foregone conclusion that the game would even happen...until now. The video game needed to make $700,000 in order to become a reality and, thanks to a successful
Kickstarter campaign and 12,218 financial backers, a full $823,704 was raised as the campaign drew to a close on 13 November 2015.
A release date for the video game is currently unknown. Actor Kane Hodder will reprise his role as the zombified serial killer known as Jason Voorhees via motion capture. The game is being developed by Gun Media and Illfonic for the PlayStation 4, X-Box One, and PC.
Friday the 13th co-creator Sean Cunningham is involved with the project. Further details can be found on the game's official website
here.
FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen consoler, or for the first time ever, Jason Voorhees. You and six other unlucky souls will do everything possible to escape and survive while the most well-known killer in the world tracks you down and brutally slaughters you.
About The Author:
Welcome, I am Darkknight2149. I am primarily a fan of comic books and their various adaptations, as well as horror and other classic film franchises.
As far as the "DC vs. Marvel" rivalry goes, I'm really not biased when it comes to studios and publishers. Preferences are fine, but I've never understood the basing of opinions purely by the studio/publisher that makes it.
