It's a Buffyverse Palooza!

It's a Buffyverse Palooza!

We're celebrating the Buffyverse over at Earth's Mightiest, with a very sexy photo gallery devoted to the ladies of both Buffy and Angel and an audio interview with Joss Whedon tracing the history of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

In addition there are video tributes to the ladies of both Buffy and Angel, and a series of alternate titles sequences allowing us to see Buffy's opening in the style of Smallville, Tru Calling, Charmed and Friends (!).

Just click on the image below. The photo gallery, of course, will be in the right hand column upon arrival.

While you're at Earth's Mightiest, check out the sitcom made exclusively for the web, Something Remote, about a trio of friends who have to learn how to live in their apartment with a broken TV remote control.

Devin, are you enjoying the show? I think it's a pretty amazing run, though the Angelus material in season two still blows me away.

BUFFY & ANGEL series are some of the best writing from any TV shows!

Quality shows!!!

We should get a TV movie in the works surely?!?

Or even BIG SCREEN HOLLYWOOD!

It's great stuff and what I love is that Angel really was a show that stood on its own. Would love to see a reunion movie.

Hell yeah @ ED, I'm wiv ya there man, heard talk a couple of years bk wasn't it, then nothing?

Fingers crossed we'll get that reunion movie or even mini series soon rather than later, but i suppose as long as we get something thats what matters!

Damn now this is VAMP dude, not that TWI-SH1TE stuff! : P

Nah, i suppose NEW MOON could be better, not yet had the guts to watch the SUCKER! : D

As surely as the sun will rise, Grif will complain. Took a little longer than I expected, though.

Leee, if Joss is indeed doing The Avengers, I would pretty much kiss the idea of a Buffy/Angel reunion goodbye. I just don't see it happening, because that's a situation where age really does matter.

Great article Ed!

I've never watched Buffy or Angel! Would you guys recommend picking them up on DVD?

JoshW, if you've never seen it, I HIGHLY recommend you checking it out. It's got some amazing writing. I'll warn, you though, that season one is a little choppy. Get through it and things really kick into gear in season two and go on from there. Angel's a great show, too. Again, finding its footing in the beginning but once it does...holy crap.

gtrman, I agree with you. But those shows had a lot of them, including Eliza Dushku, Charisma Carpenter, Julie Benz, etc.

ED @ Well JOSS don't havta be a big part of it, though with AVENGERS it might even give him more clout to get it done, if he really wants it, still time will tell i suppose!

GRIF @ Ya GRUMPY A$$ lol! : P

JOSH @ You like DAVE in BONES, you'll [frick]ing love ANGEL, awesome series and his very best!

BUFFY was pretty cool too, though ya gotta watch BUFFY season 1 to 3 b4 even attempting to watch ANGEL!

Well unless you wanna watch ANGEL as a stand alone, then its cool!
Angelus
Angelus - 5/23/2010, 2:09 PM
I have all the seasons of Angel and Buffy on dvd - And I gotta say, I just love them. Angel got the better last season though but still - Buffy and Angel forever. [frick] twilight!

Beware Joss Whedons power to make incredible awesome tv series!

Ed: Thanks for the info! To be honest, I've thought about picking both up for a long time (especially as I caught a few episodes of Angel on TV a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed them!) but going by what you and LEE and a few thers are saying here I think I'll take the plunge and buy them! I get what you mean about first seasons as well - with the exception of some shows like Prison Break who's first season was the best one, many of them often get better and better in the second year from my experience!

LEE: Cheers dude, I appreciate the advice! I love Boreanez in Bones! ([frick]ing awesome show!) He'd really be at his best if he were to team up with Whedon again in The Avengers II and played...

WonderMan

...with Yvonne Strahovski as Ms. Marvel of course! :P

Angel definitely rocked on its own. When Buffy ended its run, it felt like it was time. Angel felt like it had another couple of seasons in it.

I really didn't start enjoying Buffy until season 3..then by season 4 I loved it. There were still some dodgy eps, but all in a ll a pretty great show..and then Angel was better again!
EdGross
EdGross - 5/23/2010, 4:36 PM
RorMachine, one of the amazing things to me about Angel is that season five was designed to be standalone, but the characters almost demanded that it become more serialized again and after a bumpy start I thought it became truly great. For instance, when Fred died to be replaced by Illyria? Amy Acker was amazing in creating two distinct characters...

Okay, need to contain the fanboy in me.

I'm actually going to be digging into the archives and posting more Buffy material over at Earth's Mightiest. I'd forgotten how many interviews I'd done during the run of both Buffy and Angel.

When I do, I hope that I can start convincing people to begin posting their comments over there. It's really important to me to start to build that same community feeling at Earth's Mightiest that is so integral a part of CBM.
