Actor A.J. Buckley accidently sent a jolt of excitement through the Supernatural fandom today when he sent a series of crptic tweets referencing a possible Ghostfacers return in season 9.

The Ghostfacers core duo of Ed Zeddmore (A.J. Buckley) and Harry Spangler (Travis Wester) only appeared in a few episodes of the CW show but proved so wildly popular that they received their own mini Internet spinoff.

On Thursday, Buckley tweeted "#GhostFacers back S9 #SPN." Many fans across twitter interpreted this statement as absolute proof that the Facers will be making an appearance in season 9.

However, Buckley later sent out another tweet saying that it was just a hopeful idea.

"I was putting it out into the universe as are all of you .... ED and HARRY have unfinished biz. fingers and toes crossed @westerspace #SPN9," Buckley wrote.

Supernatural producer Jim Michaels also took to his Twitter in order to dispel any rumors that may have begun circulating regarding a revitalization of the Zeddmore and Spangler plotline.

"We never disclose any info about a new season Arc before it is time," Michaels tweeted in reply to one fan's search for confirmation.

Filming for the new season is set to begin this summer and viewers will have to wait until at least the fall to find out if the Ghostfacers really will rejoin the cast of Supernatural.

In the meantime, Ghostfacer fans can relive the amusing meeting of the Facers and Castiel (Misha Collins).
