i dont want to change characters or swap spit with each other.,... i just want maybe a modern adaption to the same caharacters ya know? just spruce em up, thank god i dont care about Crymson Dynamo though. Imagine if that happedned in TDK! oh well as long i dont have to see Donald Blake turn into Thor ... Thats Bruce Banners thing ya know? I mean i couldnt handle that in the Avengers movie. Damn i really hate Donald Blake.... really though , i just reread my post and if you made it this far it pretty pointless so just disregard what i said .... thanks;)

You said, "blah blah blah i think donald blake is the coolest! He's at least as cool as a donald trump/Triple H composite character. Donald Trump already has Donald in his name so he could easily be Blake and Triple H looks exactly like Thor so there ya go! No big wup!" HAha, just funnin'

I AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY!

Its funny how nobody is on here having a shit fit about all the changes in this movie the way they were about Wolverine? 2 characters combined to make a new one? Id say thats a pretty big liberty made by precious Marvel studios wouldnt you? So lets hear it fanboys..[frick] MARVEL..cmon everybody join in..[frick] MARVEL..

Yes, you gotta love hypocracy.

I stated my disdain for the Dynamo/Whiplash amalgam when it was first revealed. Though I have to say, at least Fav's gave us the heads up unlike Fox, who was ready to surprise us with Deadbarrakanaterpool. I just want to know which Crimson Dynamo Rourke is supposed to be, as there are something like 8 different guys to don the armor, hopefully the Yuri Petrovich identity, as it coincides with Black Widow and her defection. Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer doesn't bother me in the least. It is a silly thing to worry about, especially since it's Sam Rockwell. Have any of you ever seen him in a movie where he wasn't great. Charlies Angels sucked, but he didn't. Galaxy Quest is all the better for having him, he was funny as shit in that. Can you imagine how well him and RDJ will interact.

Rorschach it's not [frick]ign hypocrisy man. You've got it all wrong. The changes Favreau Made to the story and characters were GOOD ONES. Changes that made sense, and made the character make more sense or helped streamline things. In other word Favreau IMPROVED upon the story, etc.

Your so busy condemning everybody that doesn't see things your way, that you just can't seem to realize that there's good judgement calls and bad ones. WE .. the fans are UNIQUELY QUALIFIED to make this judgement.

What they did in Woverine was a bunch of stupid unnecessary arbitrary bullshit that turned a good story into a bad one. That is distinctly different from what favreau did and you mother[frick]ing know it.

Oh boy, now admantium can melt. Now Wolverine and Sabertooth are brothers ?!?! Oh yeah thats sheer genius.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 5/7/2009, 7:58 AM
Of course its [frick]ing hypocracy! Just because YOU think those were good changes, what about all the fans of Crimson Dynamo and Whiplash that are outraged..for them it could be like combining Joker and Riddler! So as far as your concerned when Fav does it hes IMPROVING on the source material, but Hood making changes (good or bad) pisses on it? And of course your qualified to make this judgement because your a fan! Jesus your arrogance astounds me. Im not condemning anyone for seeing things differently to me, im saying that no movie has been made from a comic yet that has not changed something and its hypocracy to condemn one and praise another, regardless of weather you think they are good or bad alterations, because its the fact that they change anything in the first place thats the liberty! If i happened to like the changes Hood made in Wolverine, who the hell are you to tell me they were any worse or better than whats happening in Iron Man 2?

Shaman
Shaman - 5/7/2009, 8:18 AM
Honestly Roar, i think it's because there are no "hard core" ironman fans that have been collecting the comic since their birth (and nothing but Ironman) on here. Or if there are, they don't type much. As for Wolverine deadpool and gambit, statistically speaking, those characters have always been more worshiped than Ironman worldwide. Most of us fans that just happen to simply like Ironman, have read about him more oftenly in Avengers than anything else. But now, more and more hard core ironman fans are being inducted because we finally got to see him on the big screen in all his CGI glory, making even Batman look like a semi-panzy! These fans however, mostly aren't accustomed to the specifics of the character's source material and couldn't give a shit if Favreau changed everything BUT Ironman. In other words, Favreau probably picked the best franchise ever to work with from the comic book realm.

So i hope it explains a bit better the "ironman versus wolverine" issue which i'm sure you already knew but you know... just saying LOL Oh and Juggernaut's always arogant, you know that LOL :P

ManThing - 5/7/2009, 8:35 AM
I'm a movie buff and a 25 year comic fan, punk! And yes you are condemning everybody that doesn't agree with you.

I'm not being arrogant. I'm just telling it like it is, and you don't like it. The world is big and full of people that see things a million different ways. Get over it.

I am not sure what your talking about with the Whiplash/ Crimson Dynamo thing. Did Fasvreau do something you don't aprove of?

you keep accusing everybody that isn't sucking Fox Studio's cock like you of being comic purists. Well thats obviously bullshit, and you don't like that either. well guess whta? Tough shit, kid! lol

You know what your problem is? All that beer dried out your brain so badly that that you've turned into one of these window lickers that goes to the movies and laughs at shit that isn't funny.

Your so busy going "bb bb -b-b ut I had a good time." "It wuz a phun phlik doood" But the fact is that you just have INCREDIBLY LOW STANDARDS.

hahahahah look at you. Your so outraged that some people are more discerning and discriminating than you. Pissing and moaning ont he internet cause somebody dissed your little purile college age party/hardy corporate apologist attitude. Funny.

BTW if oyu really dislike something Favreau is doing I think you should let everybody know.I am all ears. But be careful.. it might start to seem like you have some taste.

Greeting everyone!!!

I have been on this site for a long time but never had an account until now and it feels like I know most of you already.

Rorschach01 I have always enjoyed and have almost agreed with every comment you have posted. And when it comes to your comments about the Wolverine movie and IM2 I agree with you mostly.I think that there were a lot people that already wanted to hate X-Men Origins even before the movie came out. The movie was not great but I still enjoyed it.

When it comes to IM2 I can roll with the changes. It does seem kind of weird to combine two villians into one but I am not going to hate on it til I see it.I am a long time IronMan comic reader (hell I collect a lot of marvel comics)and as a fan I do not think it is necessary to combine two villians but it might just work in the film. And I wish to God that Favs would have shown the fans a pic of Scarlet.

I've pretty much stated it from the beginning. An Iron Man film is the perfect starting vehicle for Marvel for two basic reasons. One, the character is known, but not WELL known, so there's a lot of room to work with there (much like Deadpool, he has no real "universe" of his own, yet), and two, it's a guy in a suit of armor. The special effects capabilities alone are astounding, let alone the fact that there have been, like what... 2000 different versions of his armor?! That means the stylization of the character is left WIDELY open for artistic interpretation. And they can update changes to his look through the course of time without ANY upheaval from his fanbase!
This means, obviously, with characters like X-Men, or other more main stream franchise characters, they have a more detailed, visually stringent history, so making changes or alterations becomes a slippery slope, and has a lot more succeptability to main stream dissaproval.

P.S. ...As an early birthday present to me, Favreau HAS to release the pictures of Johansson in the Black Widow outfit SOON! ;-)
ManThing
ManThing - 5/7/2009, 10:21 AM
Ok so I just checked it out... Favreau plans on combining the characters of Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo.

Now I definitely do not think that's a good idea. I don't like it one bit, but I can understand why Favs did it.

Except for his weapon, Whiplash is kind of on the weak side and it would be way too easy for Iron man to beat him with a ranged attack. I know Whiplash has some kind of body armor, but it probably wouldn't be enough to stand up to a full power repulsor blast. So what they will probably do is to give CD a nifty whip like weapon to use.

Again... I do not agree. whiplash is classic, and they should have let him stand alone, but that's a a detail flaw I can live with as long as the rest is good.
thenumber12
thenumber12 - 5/7/2009, 10:47 AM
They are combining the two characters so ironman cannot beat him alone, thus having a need for war machine.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 5/7/2009, 10:52 AM
@Shaman..exactly! Thats my whole point. people aint up in arms about the liberties Fav is taking because the characters are not that well known but that shouldnt matter, what should matter is that hes changing things from the comics, which is what all movies do but if Iron Man was being produced by Fox people would be saing "Fox are at it again"..personally i couldnt care less! I take the movies as seperate realities from the comics, like Ultimates or Allstar with DC..But i just have to laugh at clowns like Juggy...speaking of...

Jugg glad you finally grasp the [frick]ing argument your having now! You are not only arrogant but a childish idiot that resorts to silly insults when you cant get your point across. I never accused anybody of anything you paranoid freak! All i said was its hypocritical to bash one movie for doing something and praise another for doing the same. Thats all i said! Your the one that brought up sucking foxs cock and all the rest of the inane, juvenile garbage..grow up..KID. i loved Iron man, im sure i will love Iron man 2 and yes i enjoyed Wolverine but i never once said it was a great movie did i? And what are you on about me being outraged! Im perfectly happy thank you, your the one about to burst a blood vessel sunshine. In fairness i should of realized i was dealing with a reactionary moron after i saw your little hissy fit about your Juggernaut avatar on another post, lol..i see youv changed it anyway? way to stick to your guns! Now [frick] off, the adults are talking

my insults weren't silly, they clearly dead on. If you liked Wolverine then you do have low standards.
I know this is over your head, [frick]tard but I have HIGH standards. I like GOOD movies. I know a saprophyte [frick]shit like you can't understand so don't even try.

Juggs: You contradicted yourself, and attacked someone personally for a generalized comment.
I can't see how anyone could take your side now, even though you started with a valid argument about what "kind" of liberties are acceptable, and which one's aren't. Should have stuck with that instead.

I think I need to call up Fox Studios. I bet they don't realize that Rorschach01 has been out of his gimp cage too long and has taken to banging on the keys of somebody's PC. somebody logged into this web site unfortunately.
