Excuse me if i have grammar or spelling mistakes, i don’t live in an english-speaking country.
For most of the people, after the great movie Iron Man, its sequel was awful. What i’m about to say may be dangerous but i actually liked Iron Man 2. Well, not dangerous, ‘cause i’m not going to create a flame war due to the fact that the mayority of the people alredy assume that the film is bad, and if someone says that he enjoyed it, they don’t even loose their time arguing if it’s good or bad like it would happen with Iron Man 3.
But i have to say, i’m not trying to convince you here that this movie is good or why you should like it. And if you disliked it, i completely understand, seriously. Just like Man of Steel, i enjoyed that movie a lot and i think it’s very awesome but i understand why the superman fans were dissapointed. Anyways, to the point:
So why did i like Iron Man 2, you will wonder. Well, i’m not going to say that it’s the best movie in the world but first of all i enjoyed it because of Tony Stark. I really really like MCU’s Tony Stark. He’s funny, he’s rich, he has everything he wants, a badass armour, he can fly, he’s got a great girl and an awesome beach house, an artificial inteligence called Jarvis, he has buildings and fancy things... and i don’t know, his looks? Everything. He basicly steals the show all the time. And especially, I really like the world of Stark Industries and it was explored a lot in this film. When i saw the Stark Industries easter egg in the ending of Cap 2 i smiled. I didn’t like Iron Man 3 because of that in some way (but mostly because he didn’t wear his armour (and its villain)). In an Iron Man film, i want Stark Industries, a cool armour and AC/DC, and this film had the three of them.
I know Iron Man 2 was esencially made to kill time for the Avengers movie so yeah, it’s true, it doesn’t really move the Iron Man franchise forward and it’s made to introduce things. It mostly introduces Shield and Nick Fury, so we get to know who he is. The first movie which didn’t have Nick Fury only in a cameo. It also established the badass character Black Widow for the Avengers (She was awesome in the film) and we also got to see some more of Agent Coulson. It also introduced Stark expo and Howard Stark, so they are introduced for Captain America. Something similar to his shield even appeared. And vibranium! Another great cool awesome thing was the badass WAR MACHINE, who i am looking forward to see in Avengers 2. Some “Avengers Initiative” mentions... Plus, some easter eggs like the end credit scene with Thor’s hammer. The film is a big easter egg.
It hasn’t got a purpose of existing aside from introducing things into the MCU. For me, the movie is a big giant easter egg. That’s what it is. The thing is, it’s fun and it has got Iron Man in it, which is great. It’s fun, you have to admit it. And it has some very great action scenes. Plus, it has got AC/DC! For me, it’s a very entretaining movie and worthy of seeing with your friends and have a great time! I pretty much rather see this before Iron Man 3.
Iron Man 2= Fun
Iron Man 3= Boring and Dissapointing
Okay, i’m mentioning Iron Man 3 to much. That’s dangerous. Just remember this is just the opinion of a random person in the internet. It’s strange because as a non Marvel fan i would say Iron Man 2 is fun (how many times i’ve said that alredy? Gosh) but as a Marvel fan i guess i would say dissapointing? But that doesn’t make sense because i don’t feel dissapointed with the film as a Marvel fan. However, as a non Marvel fan i think Iron Man 3 was boring and as a Marvel fan i think it was a HUGE dissapointment. I guess i feel this way about Iron Man 2 because when i saw it i only knew about spiderman and i was not passioned about Iron Man comics and i thought his movies were all OK, i couldn’t criticize them.
Conclusion: I enjoyed that film and i think it has some really nice things. As i said, when you look at it, the movie is actually an introduction of several thing, a gigantic easer egg, we could say. It’s like an expansion of the Universe, a very verey long Marvel One-Shot, an expansion... but with Iron Man and Scarlet Johanson in it! :D When i go see an Iron Man film, i want Stark industries, AC/DC and a cool armour. And Tony Stark drinking with style. That is mister Stark! Oh, and JARVIS saying: “Yes, sir”. Iron Man 2 is the incarnation of Tony Stark in its best brilliance. I think it’s a good sequel to its predecesor.
And now a cool video of the movie (with AC/DC!)
