IRON MAN 3 Concept Art Shows Off Some Very Cool Alternate Designs For Tony Stark's Mark XLII Armor
In this latest round of Iron Man 3 concept art, we take a look at some seriously awesome alternate designs for the Mark XLII suit Tony Stark wore throughout the bulk of the threequel. Check it out...
Iron Man 3 massively exceeded expectations at the box office back in 2013, earning over $1.2 billion and scoring the acclaim of critics with a solid 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Shane Black took charge of the threequel after Jon Favreau decided to move on from the franchise and while it's fair to say that fans enjoyed this action-packed adventure for the Armored Avenger, there were some liberties taken with the source material which definitely upset a lot of people.
However, one thing everybody seemed to like is Tony Stark's new armour. The Mark XLII was the hero's most advanced suit to date at the time and while it was a departure from what came before, Iron Man looked downright amazing on screen.
Now, we have a gallery of rarely seen concept art from the Marvel Studios movie showcasing a number of alternate designs, some of which pay homage to the comic books and others that are pretty much unrecognisable (but still very, very cool).
