WHO'S Helming Jonah Hex? And will Brolin Still Star?

Only a few weeks after Crank writer/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor leave the Jonah Hex movie, word comes that Jimmy Hayward of animated Seuss movie "Horton Hears a Who" is on board. And what of Josh Brolin?

Besides Hayward, Josh Brolin is also attached to the project, but hasn't exactly been TOTALLY committed to the movie.

Brolin is one of the modern day great actors in my opinion. He can play anything and he still looks like he can break your jaw. I try and use his "I'm making you my personal project" line from No Country For Old Men at least twice a day. He's just too bad ass, that being said... He will play Jonah Hex! Cha Ching! My tickets bought!

Jonah hex the feature film will be the first live-action debut from Director Jimmy Hayward, the Director fo the CGI mega hit, Horton Hears A Who. Yes, you heard the correctly. From Who to BLAM BLAM PUNK! Hayward got his start animating the mega classic... Reboot? Then he moved on to Pixar, and after that he started "Hearing Whos." That's coool with me, I value versatility. Plus, Horton made 154 million last year, so hopefully he'll save some doh for the budget of this adaptation of the supernatural Western epic of a comic book. Hayward is reportedly guiding Brolin through the role which will make him a block buster film star... maybe? I think so. I personally beleive Westerns are coming back with a vengeance, and what better than the future mixed with the present mega hit of comic adaptations?

THR says the script by intended screenwriter-directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor will stick around, though Hayward will make a few tweaks. The pair left due to "creative differences" last fall, which basically means they hated each other...

Hears to jonah hearing Whos, and then blowing them away! Like Cinema Blend says, Hayward got hired for a reason, and we all know Brolin is the best for this role so let's hope it does well, and ushers in a new era of Westerns, comic adaptations, and supernatural soldiers pulling six shooters and tommy hawks on anything and everything. God bless America... -saintc

Reboot was great for what it was. They did a lot of scenes from so many different great cartoons, comics, novels and games as their reboot forms. It was decent.

Horton is and always will be a classic in my eyes. One of my favorite Seuss stories. So that's a winner in my book. As for a Jonah Hex movie, I still don't get how this guy got put in front of oh, about 15 other DC adaptations I'd rather see. Not that Hex isn't cool in his own right, but seriously, before even the Flash? That's just so, eh, to me.

Josh Brolin is great and I can't really picture anybody else in the role of Hex. I hope there's a spot in there for Vigilante as well. The other "cool" DC Western (white) Character. Leave some room for a couple of the more well known Native American characters and I'd say it's golden.

I'm sure they put this in front of other DC characters because it is not a typical Super hero movie. It's an original animal. superhero movies have a line but films like this, any horror comic, or drama comic don't really have a line I guessu can say. I would lov to see the flash too, but IDK if the wrld is ready. While Jonah Hex, noone knows about it, so when the trailer drops with alotta bang bang and wise cracks, I'm sure it will do well.

It's like asking why Elektra or Punisher got there movies before Ironman and Captain America. The answer is budget. It cost alot less to cast Frank Castle and have him shoot up bad guys with classic weapons like assault rifles and grenades. Putting Tony Stark in a suit of armor and having him fly around blastin' shit with repulsor beams takes a bit more time and money. Now I don't know much about the character Jonah Hex, it was actually the pic of Josh Brolin that caught my attention. He is definitely a badass. I will go see this just because I know he will be a kickass outlaw.
