BOX OFFICE: First JUSTICE LEAGUE Opening Weekend Projections Make For Interesting Reading
Expectations are high for Justice League, especially with Joss Whedon at the helm now. Well, early projections are in for its debut at the domestic box office and you can find the details after the jump!
While it's still obviously very early days, early box office projections for Justice League are in and...it's mostly good news for the superhero ensemble. According to Box Office Pro, the signs are currently pointing to the movie making $150 million during its first three days of release but it is obviously important to note that things could change as we get closer to its release this coming November.
So, why is this only "mostly" good news? Well, a debut like this is obviously good but it means it will open behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's $166 million and that can't be what Warner Bros. was hoping for considering the fact Justice League stars Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman, the Flash, and Cyborg. However, with these projections pointing to an eventual haul of $330 million in North America, there's no way the studio will ultimately be too unhappy with this result.
Depending on whether or not the reviews and word of mouth are positive, Justice League could easily exceed expectations or fall short of this number. We'll just have to wait and see but expect Warner Bros. to give the movie a heavy promotional push over the next couple of months as November looms.
