Man-Thing, Man-Thing, Man-Thing. This was originally supposed to come out on video in 2004. But, then because of the success of the other Marvel films in theaters, Marvel decided to upgrade this to a Halloween release. Then, Marvel decided that Man-Thing wouldn't be bankable in a domestic release so they changed it from theatrical to video again (or at least, in the U.S.) Then, in 2005, Man-Thing was released as a Sci-Fi Original; on the Sci-Fi channel. Well, let's start with the "plot" of Man-Thing. I didn't get much of a plot from this movie so I'll use a synopsis from IMDB.

"Bywater's native Seminole Indians believe the swamp will be bloodily revenged by its guardian spirit, a 'dark warrior', for its 'rape' by Frederic and son Jake Schist's oil-drilling, sold out by their own late chief Ted Sallis. The rig is illegally protested against by hot-head ecologists, who get blamed for vandalism on the site. New, outsider sheriff Kyle Williams suspects immediately local adolescent Billy James wasn't eaten during love-making there by a cayman but by a mysterious monster, which already made and soon makes new bloody victims in weird, inconsistent ways. Several people add to the danger."

Well, that's nothing at all like the comic book origin, is it now? I knew I shouldn't have been expecting a good movie, but I was expecting a...movie! It was poorly acted and written. The writer is the same scriptwriter for sh!t such as the other two Lost Boy's films that were direct-to-DVD. But even those were better than Man-Thing! Instead of focusing on making it a comic book movie, they attempted to make it a crappy monster movie. So, not only as a comic book movie does it fail. But as a movie, it's awful! I do not recommend Man-Thing to anyone. If you think about buying the DVD, don't. If you really want to watch this, go ahead, you're just wasting your time.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND MAN-THING TO ANYBODY!
