With so many high-profile MCU projects on the way, it's no wonder that so many rumours are doing the rounds regarding Marvel Studios' plans. Today, we have another roundup for you, and we're kicking things off with a big Marvel Animation update.
According to @CanWeGetToast, the upcoming Marvel Zombies TV show will feature "Infinity Hulk," an even more powerful Variant of the Green Goliath imagined in the same vein as What If...?'s Infinity Ultron and Infinity Killmonger.
The Hulk is near-unstoppable as is, so giving him the Infinity Stones should result in a spin on the character fans can have fun with.
We also have news on X-Men '97. Daniel Richtman reiterates recent reports that Marvel Studios is keen to make as many episodes as possible of the X-Men: The Animated Series revival, producing them back-to-back to avoid a lengthy wait between seasons.
That's hampered Prime Video's Invincible since it began, so this is a smart move on Marvel's part. Season 2 is reportedly pretty far along, so we'll likely see that hit Disney+ next year.
We've saved our biggest rumour for last.
According to @MyTimeToShineH, Deadpool & Wolverine will reference Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher. He supposedly rebelled against Cassandra Nova's rule in The Void, but never came back from their confrontation.
The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez strongly hints that it's Thomas Jane's Punisher, likely explaining why The Russian seems to be part of Cassandra's crew. He's also teased appearances from Ben Affleck's Daredevil and Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver.
It's always best to take rumours like these with a pinch of salt, but each of the self-proclaimed "scoopers" above has a solid track record and been correct on at least a few occasions. As an aside, we've heard that Dafne Keen is 100% locked in for a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine as X-23.
Shawn Levy directs Deadpool & Wolverine, which stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen. The movie is written by Ryan Reynolds & Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Zeb Wells & Shawn Levy.
The trades have confirmed that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, with Wesley Snipes, James Marsden, Famke Janssen, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Dafne Keen, Channing Tatum, Blake Lively and, as we mentioned above, even singer Taylor Swift among those rumoured to make an appearance.
Kevin Feige, Reynolds, Levy and Lauren Shuler Donner produce with Louis D’Esposito, Wendy Jacobson, Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, George Dewey, Simon Kinberg and Jonathon Komack Martin serving as executive producers.
Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in theaters on July 26.
