New Footage In International THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG TV Spots

New Line has released a couple of international spots for Peter Jackson's second Hobbit movie, featuring a few interesting snippets of new footage -- including what appears to be a large battle between a group or Orcs and a Thorin-led band of Dwarves. Something from the third movie..surely?

The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug hits theaters this December.

Nothing new. That battle (Battle of Azanulbizar/Moria) was actually in the first movie and probably will be back in the prologue of the second one.

@1to10youlose,

To be fair, The Hobbit had considerably larger shoes to fill, and I can assure you that very few people will agree that An Unexpected Journey was anywhere near the brilliance of the LoTR films.

Thor...well, ignoring the Avengers and Iron Man 3, it was only expected to be a little bit better than the first Thor, and in that respect I think it delivered.
