Marvel Movie Rumor Rundown

Silver Surfer Spin-off, Sub-Mariner, you know you wanted it! Well here you go.

This from Variety:

"Fox is: rebooting “Fantastic Four” with “Green Lantern” scribe Michael Green and producer Akiva Goldsman; mobilizing a “Wolverine” sequel and several “X-Men” spinoffs; is quietly developing a new version of “Daredevil” and working on a Silver Surfer film. Sony recently set James Vanderbilt to write the fifth and sixth installments of “Spider-Man,” and Universal continues work on “Sub-Mariner.” Paramount continues as distributor for “Iron Man 2” and several others expected to include “Thor” and “Captain America.”

These properties have to move forward so the studios can keep the rights to the characters. That's it, that's the reason we are forced to suffer through badly made movies. It's also the reason we get some good ones as well. With Marvel now being financially backed by Disney I have NO problem with any property going back to be developed by the company that created that character in the first place. Marvel/Disney = Money in the bank to do these characters justice. No more crappy special effects. Even in bad Disney movies the effects are still grade A.

::Sighs:: I don't think a Surfer movie would actually work on its own. It would seriously be way over the top. It would be so cool if Namor came out before the Avengers and have him tie into Cap being found.. wait, how is he going to be found in the movie?

Yeah I'll believe 'em when they go to casting. They need to un-frack the xmen and spiderman series to start, and get the avengers set up.

@ Strangeman: They are probably working on that in an unoffical capacity as we speak but the offices for the prodiction do not even open until next month. Sadly it could be next year before we hear anything.
Man it's a tough wait isn't it? It's hard to wait for Cap news

Lordy!,
how could Fox manage to any more Marvel movies
With how they screwed up so bad with the crap they churned out.
Fox should not be allowed, nay banned from doing any more films for Marvel.
Paramount is the way for marvel to go.............
Sub-mariner movie?
that thar be a hokey underwater venture I reckon.....

superdog - 9/24/2009, 12:04 PM
they should do a werewolf by night story. then they can bring in all the other marvel characters as cameos and stuff. it could be a weekly t.v. series. kind of like a ripoff of the late 80's t.v. show on fox. which itself was a ripoff of incredible hulk. anybody think that would be cool?

Im with you Superdog a Werewolf By Night t.v. series would be very cool. I've got a few of those old comics. Hopefully the Disney/Marvel studio will regain all the characters so that we get the best films ever. Especially X-Men!
