Get ready to dine with your favorite Marvel superheroes at Universal's Islands of Adventure. The company announced today a new character-themed dinner option for its Orlando theme park.

Set to begin Thursday, December 7, Cafe 4 in Marvel Super Hero Island at Universal's Islands of Adventure will offer a buffet dinner featuring Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm and Rogue. During the dinner, each character will come to your table and sign autographs and take photos.

As for the dinner, Universal teases:

Enjoy fresh salads like orzo and mozzarella and tomato. We’ll also be serving up roasted rosemary lemon chicken, shrimp scampi and chicken scallopini (just to name a few).

Penne Bolognese, stuffed jumbo shells and specialty pizzas are the perfect option for any superhero. And of course – we didn’t forget the desserts. A heroic portion of assorted desserts will end your meal on the sweetest of notes.

As with all things theme parks, the character dinner doesn't come cheap. Pricing is reportedly $49.99 per guest ($24.99 for ages 3-9). And, of course, park admission is also required.

For those confused about the whole Disney-owning-Marvel theme park competition thing, Universal Orlando actually licensed select Marvel characters for Islands of Adventure prior to Walt Disney Co. purchasing the Marvel brand back in 2009. Disney's rights are restricted for them east of the Mississippi River, but Disney has begun to incorporate Marvel attractions in its California and International parks overseas.

Never mind... apparently they don’t unless Universal closes their attraction or fails to maintain it to agreed standards.

@LEVITIKUZ - There's a better job than getting to dress as Captain America? I sincerely doubt that.

This is where I first saw the fantastic four. I was probably seven or eight years old. I thought the guy on fire looked cool.

and I smelled pizza.
