x-factor 228 - it's finally clear who the actual death from last issue is and i'm surprised to hear my self saying this but what a cop out! spoilers: it's madrox ...and he's not even dead. the art is something i typically endure for the wonderful writing but since the former wasn't present, visuals felt shittier then usual. very indiscernible. disappointing issue outside of a few good one liners.

jli 4 - it was ok. the team keeps failing as alien minors want to plunder the earth. can we do something else please?

uncanny 2 - uncanny is quickly turning into a sci- fi and i'm really digging it. really appreciate the sinister exposure too. we're finally getting the full untold story of his origin. the team chemistry really bounces around well too. there's one scene where namor really steals the show. keep it comin, gillen.

swamp thing 4 - amazingly constructed panels had me hooked. the story keeps delving into the creepier side of things and there's an obvious meet up with animal man coming soon. overall, i can safely say the ST series is a hitting more then missing.

x-23 18 - i chose a perfect issue to jump on x-23. one featuring the motherfawking Collector. Yes, I am a nerd. The art was a delight too. My only complaint would be the issue went by too fast due to its sheer awesomeness.

animal man 4 - pick of the week. there is only one way to describe this book and that it's Adventure Time meets The Thing. maxine even gets a magical pet in this issue! i want an animal man movie directly based off of this story arc now dc.

x-men 22 - the art is still marvelous and superbly fluid with the action, but this arc needs to wrap it up. good x moments but boring generic dictator style villain gave this issue an overall meh.

stormwatch 4 - the weirdness, the methaphsyics, the impossible odds, the insane solutions, the twist endings. everything i loved from warren ellis' and frank millar's Authority run is here. I am super pissed that Cornell is leaving the book with issue six especially after witnessing all he has weaved in these 4 issues.

x-men legacy 259 - what i love about carey is, it's not enough for the man to be writing x characters doing the usual in their little x-realm. carey always tops himself in his scripts, adding the unusual and scientificly charged ideas. also, it's a very classy route to go out on the book by trying to give back more then taking.

Animal Man was my pick of the week as well. Adventure Time meets the Thing is a perfect description. Animal Man and Swamp Thing are top of the read pile very week they come out. DC's strongest stories, without a doubt. This X-Factor arc was worthless. I liked the setup, Guido has no soul so demons are gunning for X-Factor. But man Bloodbath and the Hangman were just awful. And an X-Factor book without Madrox...COME ON! I've been reading X-Factor since the early 90's, why? Multiple Man! Glad to hear you enjoy Uncanny X-Men. Ever since Whedon's run on Astonishing, Cyclops has become my favorite X-man. I'm quite a fan of Gillen as well so Uncanny will have to be something I pick up in trade.

LBH - dude, Animal Man always seems to kick ass doesn't it? the last 4 issues is like the best comics i've read in a VERY long time. i'm surprised to find myself LOVINg swamp thing too. i've never really read a ST book before and have always found the concept of him and the marvel rip off, Man Thing to be extremely stupid. like walking salads. never thought it would be in my top 10 DC reads

as for x-factor, it's obvious that i've been pretty disappointed with the current arc. Peter David kept hyping up the death as if it was going to matter. like anyone believes madrox is going to say dead. and the art..uugh. and i know what you mean about Hangman and Bloodbath. those names just sounds like 90s Image Comics failures.

as for uncanny, i have to admit, i wasn't always a big fan of Gillen but dude! the last two issues have been pretty entertaining. and you just can't deny this team's power! i think you'll enjoy that trade man!

weedbeater - hey man, sorry i didn't capitalize. will you ever forgive me?

@ Oz, Due mostly in part to the movies, I was a big Swamp Thing fan growing up. As an adult I started reading the Alan Moore Swamp Thing stuff and he's firmly made a stand as one of my all time favorite comic book characters. As for Man-Thing I love him in Thunderbolts and I've heard the Steve Gerber stuff is quite good.

I started with a few back issues of Moore's later Swamp Thing stuff and didnt care for it. When the hardbacks started coming out I gave him a second chance and found myself in love with the series.

And yeah, Tbolts is awesome!
