Long time Slipknot member Shawn Crahan, who has directed much of the bands' music videos and promotional material has released a video in which he announces that he is set to adapt Officer Downe, an ultra violent sci fi graphic novel by Joe Casey and Chris Burnham.

The story is set in a dystopian future and revolves around the titular police officer who is so dedicated to the law, that he is repeatedly brought back to life whenever he is killed in duty so that he can continue fighting the good fight.

This isn't new information, though I couldn't believe it had not yet been reported on this website as it is one of my personal favorites.

I enjoyed the hyper violence to this comic...can the movie be as over the top as the books?
Hope so..it remains to be seen.

I absolutely love this book and I think it can be to sci fi movies what Kick Ass was to the superhero genre. I hope they put a decent sized budget into it though.

I recall reading about this on IGN a couple of months back.
Anyway, is this basically a zombie judge dredd?

I do like Slipknot (not my favorite band, but I think they're okay) and the premise interests me. I'd give it a watch.

It's a similar premise to Dredd, I guess. Bad Ass cop in a dystopian future. Except the force have a whole team of people dedicated to reviving him when he dies in the line of duty and he is so dedicated he just doesn't stop coming after you. Even when shredded into many pieces.
