Over the last 10 to 20 years we have seen threequals. We have seen good, and we have seen god awful ones as well. So lets look at the highlights of the god and the bad.
.
Released in theaters all ready.

Xmen the last stand
Do I really need to go into discussion about this one. This movie sucked major donkey dick, and I think we can all agree with that. The problem with this movie is 1 the director 2 the story, and 3 they killed 2 of the major characters of the series in the first hour of the movie. This movie is an insult to the comics and an insult to CBMs. This in my opinion was way worse than Borogins. Bryan singer didn’t do an outstanding job on the first 2, but they were way better than this POS. 1 out of 5

Cool trailer really crappy movie.

Toy story 3
This is one of the best threequals by far. Even though it was a family film I really enjoyed it. It had a lot of heart which is why I think it did so well. This topped the other Toy story's in every way which only a few threequals have been able to accomplish. !,000 time better the Last stand. 5 out of 5

Good movie good trailer.

Spider man 3
One of the most infamous CBMs Spider man3. I have said before I liked this movie, but recently I watched and it was TERRIBLE. This movie is the best proof of why not to let the studio help. They wanted Venom in it, but we got a shit one. We wanted a dark Peter we got an EMO Peter. This movie did suck, but it was still better than X3. So let this movie be lesson to studios do not eff with directors
vision, or you will eff up the movie. 2 1/2 out of 5

Another one with a good trailer but crap movie.

Predators
Predators is an amazing movie. This was really good threequal it almost topped the original. When the movie was about to be released I thought it would be bad because of Brody, but it ended up being a major win. Great cast awesome movie, and I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it. I hope to see a sequel to such an awesome movie. 4 out of 5.

Amazing!

The Matrix Revolutions
This in my opinion was the most epic ending to a series. It has the amazing action choreography (which had to be a total pain in the @$$ to film} the cool story, and visionary directors. The W Bros have done a fantastic job from the start and did a fantastic job ending it. This was not my favorite out of the 3 (Matrix Reloaded) but like I said epic ending to a series. 4 1/2 out of 5.

Epic!

Pirates of the Caribbean: At worlds end
Umm... I really don't like this movie. Its to long, its story I don't think worked at all.The hundred foot tall calypso. The only thing that kept my attention was the CG, and action. I mean thats all I can really say about this movie its just all around stupid. 2 out of 5.

Stupid.

To be released in 2011
Transformers Dark of the Moon
From what I've heard I have high hopes for this, and also because of the amazing footage I've seen. Dear Michael Bay please don't DISAPPOINT again!

Awesome!!

Coming in the next 2 years
The Dark Knight Rises
Bane, Catwoman,The League of Shadows, possibly Black Mask, and Christopher Nolan= Most EPIC film ever. This will reset the bar for CBMs. I am not scared for this one at all.

Iron Man 3
Oh God. New director, and totally different direction from where Favreau was going, and no Mandarin. Is this going to be the next X3 all we can do is pray it isn't horrible.

I completely agree with you on everything except the Matrix Revolutions thing. That movie was terrible.

No...

PREDATORS did NOT nearly top the original...

In fact no third movie does... ROBOCOP 3, ALIEN 3, etc etc........

Only movie I can think of that didn't have the THREEQUAL curse is REVENGE OF THE SITH... much much better than the first two.

Tho I don't know that counts as its really STAR WARS 6?

All I can say is IRON MAN 3 better be twice the movie 2 was, that is all! : P

I agree, with all this, except for the fact that, Matrix Revolution was good. That movie sucked ass, while having a stroke. Also I didn't know Mandarin wasn't going to be in Iron Man 3. Just because they get a new director, doesn't mean it'll change. But it'll probally suck anyway.

Good Article.

I actually liked The Matrix Revolutions, although I didn't like the unanswered questions at the end.

When I watched At World's End, I felt like I was in a waiting room.

Well, I guess everybody has an opinion, but come on Matrix Revolutions? Predators?? I may be in the minority but I rather enjoyed X3 and SM3. Not to say they didn't have problems, but I still enjoyed them.See how opinions work? Everyone's got a different one. Not to say they are right or wrong....

Spider-Man 3, in my opinion, was excellent. Sure it had its obvious problems, but I still found it to be good.
I thought POTC 3 was pretty good, but it was way too long, plot was too confusing, etc. The first two were so much better.
I have high hopes for TDKR, DOTM, and IM3 (the latter of which I agree with your opinion, except that they never ruled out Mandarin...maybe they can do him the way that Nolan did Ra's al Ghul).

spiderman 3 was good in my opinion... also iron man 3 i think will be good they just need to build up the mandarin story then do iron man 4 with mandarin as the villain

Joker 11,

"Predators" was a sequel to the original "Predator." It's widely known, thus it is not a third sequel. It pre-dates or eliminates the ridiculous Danny Glover "Predator 2."

Just wanted to keep you on track.

Predators was pretty sweet, but didn't quite capture that "Aliens" feel it was going for.

I didn't say Matrix revolutions was the best I said reloaded was. I didn't say IM3 would be bad I just simply said that it could be going down a path that could make it suck but I could be wrong.

Just for the record, it's called a trilogy, not a threequal.

Matrix Revolutions was the worst of the series. I don't know how anyone can say that was a good movie. Average at best.
Pirates 3 was awful, worst of the series.
SP3 was awful, worst of the series.
X3 was awful, worst of the series.
Haven't seen Predators, but I will.
I hope IM3 is better than IM2.
And TDKR should be at least as good as BB.
T3DM could be interesting, but it's going to struggle with a lot of people seeing Battle LA first and then saying, "Didn't we see this already?"

I honestly don't know why I like Revolutions. Its probably cause I'm in high school and kung-fu and explosions entertain me :P

Agreed: it's trilogy. Threequel is not a word. And major donkey...you can make your point better than that...
