This comes after it was revealed that the WB quietly hired three of DC’s biggest writers(Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison and Marv Wolfman) last fall as consultants and writers for their upcoming superhero projects.
It is now being reported that WB is currently seeking pitches from screenwriters on big screen adaptations of Adam Strange and Aquaman. Aquaman is currently on track to be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way. Also in the pipeline: "Bizarro Superman" being written by "Galaxy Quest" scribes David Howard and Robert Gordon; a sequel to "Constantine," with Goldsman and Erwin Stoff producing; two concurrent Green Arrow projects, an origin story and a prison-set one titled "Super Max"; and "Shazam," which was set up at New Line but has moved to Warners, with Pete Segal attached to direct.
With all these properties gaining the attention of both DC and WB, is it safe to say that these properties could be the next major superhero products to come out of the WB/DC moviemaking machine? Do you think this is a 'stepping up' to compete with Marvel Studio's future film agenda?
Also with Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison and Marv Wolfman working with WB/DC, will this give us more adapted films, or could it cause some conflicts of interests on certain projects?
