BATTLESHIP Concept Art Featuring Alien Creatures

BATTLESHIP Concept Art Featuring Alien Creatures

Peter Berg's Battleship is sinking at the domestic box office because of the ridiculous story and the terrible acting performances. But that doesn't mean we can't appreciate the artistic contributions of Josh Nizzi.

Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Inspired by Hasbro's classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiancee; Alexander Skarsgard as Hopper's older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone's superior (and Sam's father), Admiral Shane.

"Sinking at the box office" lol, that won't be the last time we hear that one. Poor guys, they are competing with Avengers, what hope did they have?

I still can not figure out how someone thought this was a good idea. Why not make a movie like this and not have it based on a board game? It just makes no sense!

Why didn't they just make a respectable battleship movie along the lines of U-571 or The Hunt For Red October?

i saw it this weekend. honestly it isn't terrible. it is a generic summer movie. good cgi, lots of explosions, not a lot of plot or particularly good writing. but shut off your brain for a couple hours and just enjoy what you're watching.

I agree with l0rdleg0las, SHUT your BRain off, and it isn't to bad. has some fun cgi that looked really cool. I did like how the incorporated that actual boardgame into the movie. clever for a summer afternoon movie. Or if you want fingerbang your date.

Lets think about this for a second we are expected to believe a US Navy ship can defeat an Alien ship from outer space with futuristic weaponry Puhhhleaasse!
I do commend Hasbro for having the guts to give it a try.

I still don't understand why this is posted on here. This is www.ComicBookMovies.com not www.BoardGameMovies.com. I kinda get Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter being posted on here because at least it was a Book. Battle Ship is a movie not necessary based on a board game where it got its name.

i agree avengers is better but it all ready has massive heritige being a movie about marvel heros! battleship had nothing behind it but still manager to pull off a really good movie with aliens and hardware no one has seen before where as every one knows wot the hulk and iron man look like... the only reason people are hating battleship is because they didnt come up with the idea if it was that bad it wouldnt have made more money in a couple of months than 90% of people are ever guna see in their lives!
