New recruits for the galaxy far, far away continue to be announced, and the latest addition is Emmy-award nominated British actor Matt Smith.
According to Variety, the former Doctor Who star has signed on for a "key role" in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode IX, although they din't provide any specifics on his character and aren't sure if he'll be on the side of The Resistance or the First Order.
Smith came to prominence playing the eleventh incarnation of the iconic Time Lord, and has since appeared in the likes of Terminator: Genisys and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. He was recently nominated for an Emmy for his performance as Prince Philip in Netflix’s The Crown.
Speculation is bound to go into hyperspace with this one (yes, we also think he'd make a pretty good Thrawn) so be sure to share your theories with us in the usual place.
