Director James Cameron has revealed that Avatar will indeed be coming back for a theatrical double dip and makes no bones about saying he wants more money. Cameron mentioned that he thought Alice in Wonderland took some of that 3D coin away from Avatar. "We know we left money on the table there," - said Cameron.

He went on to confirm that the re-release will hit theaters this August and will contain an additional 6 minutes of footage. I'm assuming this could possibly be one of the tests that Jake goes through before the final flight exam. Cameron mentioned a hunt sequence that was cut and this just might be it. 6 minutes sounds kind of miniscule in my oppinion - but maybe it's a mindblowing 6 minutes....Who knows.

Cameron also went on to explain the sequel and where it's headed. Right into Cameron's prior obsession - the ocean.

"'Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment – a different setting within Pandora. And I’m going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won’t be a rain forest,' Cameron told the LA Times.

"I’m not saying we won’t see what we’ve already seen; we’ll see more of that as well."
