JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM Behind-The-Scenes Photos Showcase Blue, Indoraptor, & T-Rex Animatronics

Universal and Amblin Entertainment's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is off to a roaring start at the U.S. box office, having already earned over $162.8 million in its first four days. At its current pace, it's projected to top $200 million domestically in its first seven days of release and could potentially take in another $70 million this weekend for an estimated $270 million 10-day total, which is incredibly promising with the Fourth of July holiday swiftly approaching. With the holiday boost, Fallen Kingdom should reach $300 million domestic before the release of Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6.

The J.A. Bayona-directed film is already on track to top the $1 billion mark and will make some major headway on Thursday when it's expected to surpass $800 million worldwide. As of today's posting, it's standing at $729.75 million globally ($162.75M domestic; $567M foreign).

An impromptu blood transfusion was one of the film's standout sequences and here we get to see the making of that scene, which utilized a life-size Tyrannosaurus animatronic. While neither of our leads is pictured, it's probably safe to assume that the hand we see gently touching the T-Rex is probably Chris Pratt.

Director J.A. Bayona and Isabella Sermon (Maisie Lockwood) discuss an early scene. Out of all the twists and turns in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Maisie's origin story was arguably the biggest shocker and could have serious ramifications down the line.

After introducing a number of new characters, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom wastes no time getting us back to the island and once we arrive, the situation goes from bad to worse extremely fast as Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) realize that they've been lied to. The pair are pictured here with Justice Smith as they cower in fear from the Carnotaurus.

Bryce Dallas Howard returned as Claire Dearing and was considerably more involved with the action this time around. She even featured in one of the movie's more iconic scenes when she briefly rode a motherf***ing T-Rex.

The relationship between Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Blue was undoubtedly the emotional core of the movie and while they ultimately parted ways at the end of the story, it's probably safe to say that they'll be reunited in 2021.

Sculptors Colin Jackson and Darren Devin work on developing the terrifying Indoraptor, which actually had a considerably higher human kill count than his predecessor, the Indominus Rex.

While his return was highly publicized, Ian Malcolm's (Jeff Goldblum) role in the film was essentially an extended cameo, although he did get to deliver the film's soon-to-be-iconic closing line, "Welcome to Jurassic World."

It'll be interesting to see whether or not he'll be back for Part 3, but with dinosaurs back on the mainland, it'll probably be tough for him to sit the next one out. Let's just hope that if he does return, he brings along Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) as well.

Director J.A. Bayona brought his trademark horror sensibilities to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and delivered some of the most terrifying sequences we've ever witnessed in the entirety of the Jurassic Park franchise. While a stronger script could've better utilized his immense talents, he still got us to where we needed to go as dinosaurs returned to the land of the living.

Pratt on-set in Hawaii, the location that doubles for the exotic Isla Nublar. He tells EW, “Once I got to Hawaii, I realized it was like the spirit of the island living in the movie. So we certainly mourn that loss in this movie.

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful series in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before. Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Chris Pratt has seriously lost his charm...this movie was so boring and terrible. Did not even make sense

I knew I would enjoy the movie either way, but I liked it more than I thought I would. In parts it does feel like a rehash of sorts of The Lost World, but that's fine. It felt more original than the first Jurassic World, which in and of itself felt like a mix of mostly everything we've seen before.

Two things I particularly appreciate about the sequel -
- The horror/suspense elements.
- The ending. Right direction to go if they want to keep the franchise going.

I thought Bayona said there would be a Dilophosaurus in this movie. The only one I saw was a fake one in one of the displays in Lockwood Estate. Did anyone catch the Dilo elsewhere in the movie? Did I miss it?

This movie suffered from a lot of the same things sequels in a trilogy do,it's sole purpose was to set up the next one. Now the next one could be awesome and fresh, this one was just meh. Chris Pratt was pretty boring.

This movie was a huge pile of Triceratops crap. I went to see it with low expectations even though I’ve liked every installment so far, but wow did this movie underdeliver. If you take away the average special effects, it was SyFy movie bad.

***Spoiler alert***
Between Chris Pratt’s Wolf of Wall Street quaalude impersonation when trying to escape from lava to giving a dinosaur a blood transfusion, this movie was mind numbingly dumb. Not to mention how illogical it was for the once corporate Claire, who in Jurassic World clearly didn’t care about the dinosaurs, is advocating for their protection (even after they almost killed her). And let’s just let them all roam free now ‘cause ya know dinosaurs have rights... the right to eat us. I mean did no one learn anything the past 4 movies.

The movie was also incredibly predictable with every character being an incompetent moron.

But hey my friends liked it, probably because we saw a raptor defeat a bigger raptor and the T-Rex saved the day not once, but twice in this time around.

I tried to forget this movie by drinking bleach, it isn't working! They don't care about us OG fans, or maybe they do, and that's why they keep doing stupid ass callbacks! My cat could write a better script than this. They should have kept Site B tje way it was and use THAT island as a sanctuary. But the screenwriters seriously need to go away. For the life of me, it kills me to say this movie was the worst of the war. Hell even Wrinkle in Time had a more consistent story and that was hot garbage! Sorry... I like JP too much for crap like this to exist. Aside from a few scenes, it was so predictable and stale. J.A Bayona did a great job with what he was dealt. If only he had a great script to work with, this might have been the best one yet!
End of line.
