The Godzilla vs. Kong sequel has been shooting in Australia for some time now, and wrap gifts for the movie (shared via SFFGazette.com) appear to have revealed its title! As you can see below, it will be called Godzilla and Kong, suggesting the two monsters are now allies and won't be squaring off for a rematch in this follow-up.

"Origins" was the sequel's original working title, so we can't help but wonder what meaning that "and" will actually have in what now appears to be a full-blown team-up for the iconic Kaijus.

This may not be the most imaginative of titles, but it also feels like a logical next step for the MonsterVerse after that titanic clash. What threat rises up that's big enough to unite them remains to be seen, though there's a huge number of iconic Toho beasts who could fill that role (not to mention some newly created beasties).

A brief synopsis for Godzilla and Kong previously revealed that the "sequel pits the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence - and our own."

That all but confirmed a team-up, of course, while it's also added that we can expect the sequel to, "delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever."

Godzilla vs. Kong director Adam Wingard is back behind the camera, while returning cast members include Rebecca Hall (The Night House), Brian Tyree Henry (Bullet Train), and Kaylee Hottle (Godzilla vs Kong).

As for the movie's additions, an impressive ensemble has been assembled that includes Dan Stevens (Legion), Fala Chen (Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Alex Ferns (The Batman) and Rachel House (Thor: Ragnarok).

The Godzilla vs Kong sequel is set to be released on March 15, 2024.
