More Sci-Fi For Tom Cruise As He Signs On To Star In YUKIKAZE

That Tom Cruise fella sure does love him some science fiction. Deadline report that the Oblivion actor has just made a deal to become attached to star in Yukikaze, a film based a series of Japanese sci-fi novels by Chohel Kamayashi -- apparently Japan’s answer to Isaac Asimov. The novels (which have also spawned various Manga and Anime series) deal with humanities's struggle against a mysterious alien force known as the JAM. Warner Bros will finance and distribute, and the film will be produced by 3 Arts’ Erwin Stoff and Tom Lassally.

Ahh yes sorry my mistake. Its not actually Tom Cruise vs Aliens - Its actually Tom Cruise Vs Aliens after he's been through a wormhole (with a bunch of scientologists.... probably).

Because ONLY THEY CAN HELP US !.

"Around 75 million years ago Xenu, the ruler of a Galactic Confederation of 76 planets, transported billions of his charges in spaceships similar to DC-8 jets to a planet called Teegeeack (Earth). There they were placed near volcanoes and killed by exploding hydrogen bombs, after which their “thetans” (souls) remained to inhabit the bodies of future earthlings, causing humans today great spiritual harm and unhappiness that can be remedied through special techniques involving an Electropsychometer (E-meter) in a process called auditing and with a plane that looks like Firefox after a hard landing."

More proof that Man of Steel better pull in some really great numbers. Otherwise Warner Bros. is going to go the Anime route over the comics route.

Pacific Rim (even though its not anime, its close enough), then Akira and Robotech. Now yukikaze.

Of course its Wbs fault that they keep screwing up comic movies. I just hope they at least do anime right.
