In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex's life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

RoboCop will be directed by Jose Padilha and star Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) in the lead role of Alex Murphy/Robocop. The film also stars: Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel and Abbie Cornish. The remake will be in theaters February 12th, 2014

Haters have arrived.

This movie was spectacular for what it was. My only major critique? This remake should have been made when these unforgiving nostalgic [frick]ers had outlived their usefulness. Seriously, even Man of Steel was subject to the same bullshit.

@REPOMAN - I dont know where exactly you heard that 50% goes to cinemas and taxes, but unless the tax for a ticket is near 50% itself, that percentage is far from true. I work for a theater and we only make roughly 3% to 4% off of every ticket sold (3 cents to every dollar), otherwise we're paying to rent the film itself from the studio, supplying them with more money.

Because old Murphy's character and family had so much depth.


I love the old Robocop, don't get me wrong, but some people put things like this on way too high a pedestal. They're all B-movies, relax.
It's entertainment. Enjoy it or don't, but if you don't, there's no reason to be a dick about it.

Ummmm I did feel spoiled by seeing how much of his body was left....I'm sorry it feels too spoiled forreal :( now I'm kinda disappointed and want to see the movie less now

This movie doesn't try to be the original. It is its own story. Honestly, I'd be pissed if it were just a shot-for-shot remake of the original..

I grew up watching the original many times. Have the DVD and bluray. Have to admit though... This new movie is my favorite take on the character. The story is updated and exciting.

Hold up...now if he is just a head and lungs then how can u explain the human hand? What do they just put that back on or what?like if that hand a robot hand too with skin left on it I'm gonna be mad because that could've been covered up with a robot hand
